Product Overview

The Bizflame Work Lightweight FR Shirt is a sophisticated safety solution designed for professionals who require reliable protection without the restrictive weight of traditional flame-resistant garments. This long-sleeved shirt provides a formal aesthetic suitable for management and site visits, whilst offering essential defence against heat, flame, and anti-static risks. Additionally, it is engineered to protect against light chemical hazards, making it a versatile staple for complex industrial environments where safety and a professional image are paramount.

Key Features

  • Multi-hazard Protection: This garment is specifically designed to safeguard the wearer against heat, flame, and light chemical exposure, providing essential safety in high-risk zones.
  • Permanent Anti-static Properties: The integration of carbon fibre ensures the shirt maintains its anti-static capabilities for the life of the garment, which is critical in environments where static discharge must be prevented.
  • Concealed Stud Front: The hidden fastening system enhances the shirt’s professional appearance and ensures that no metal is exposed, further minimising potential conductivity or snagging hazards.
  • Lightweight Construction: The use of a lightweight fabric allows for maximum breathability and comfort, which is particularly beneficial for those working long shifts in warmer climates or temperature-controlled indoor facilities.

Design & Performance

Fabricated from Bizflame Work—a blend of 99% cotton and 1% carbon fibre—this shirt prioritises both safety and wearer comfort. The high cotton content ensures the fabric is soft against the skin and highly breathable, reducing the risk of heat stress during intensive tasks. The carbon fibre component is woven directly into the fabric to provide permanent protection against static build-up. Despite its lightweight feel, the material is robust and engineered to endure the daily demands of industrial work, maintaining its protective integrity and shape over time.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This shirt is an excellent candidate for both print and embroidery, allowing you to align your safety gear with your corporate identity. For a truly professional finish, we recommend embroidery for company logos and individual names; the textured stitching complements the formal style of the shirt perfectly. For larger, more prominent branding, our high-quality printing services offer a bold and durable alternative. Every customisation is managed by our expert in-house team at our Telford facility, drawing on our heritage in workwear customisation that began in 1976.

Use Cases

This shirt is ideal for professionals in the petrochemical, utilities, and electrical sectors. Its formal design makes it particularly suitable for site managers, safety inspectors, and engineers who must transition between office meetings and active work sites without compromising on safety standards or professional appearance.

Practical Advice

Given the lightweight nature of this shirt, it is an ideal choice for layering. During colder periods, it fits comfortably under heavier flame-resistant jackets or coveralls. We recommend reviewing our sizing charts to ensure a fit that allows for ease of movement, as a garment that is too tight may restrict your ability to perform technical tasks safely.

Caring for your product

To ensure that the flame-resistant and anti-static properties of this shirt remain effective, it is vital to adhere to the correct laundering procedures. Maintaining the fabric’s integrity ensures that your branding stays sharp and your protection remains intact.

We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C using a normal process. Exceeding this temperature can lead to fabric degradation and may damage the specialised fibres that provide the shirt's protective qualities.

Do not use bleach when washing this garment. Oxidising agents and bleach will destroy the flame-resistant treatment and damage the carbon fibres, rendering the garment unsafe for use in hazardous environments.

For drying, use a low-temperature tumble dry setting. High heat during the drying cycle can cause excessive shrinkage and may warp any printed customisation you have applied.

When ironing, the temperature should not exceed 150°C. Using a heat setting higher than this can scorch the fabric and potentially melt any print work. Finally, do not dry clean this garment, as the industrial solvents used can strip the flame-resistant properties from the cotton fibres.
