Product Overview

The Brook Taverner Prato Slim Fit Shirt represents a sophisticated approach to corporate attire. Crafted from 100% superfine cotton, this garment features a classic herringbone weave that provides a subtle, textured aesthetic. Designed with a contemporary slim fit, it offers a streamlined silhouette that sits closer to the body, ensuring a sharp appearance throughout the working day without the excess fabric often found in traditional cuts.

Key Features
  • 100% Superfine Cotton: The use of premium, fine-spun cotton fibres ensures exceptional breathability and a smooth handle against the skin, making it suitable for long shifts in demanding office environments.
  • Easy to Iron Finish: The fabric has been engineered to resist deep creasing, allowing for a quicker, more efficient ironing process—a practical benefit for the busy professional.
  • Removable Metal Collar Stiffeners: Unlike plastic alternatives, these metal stiffeners provide a superior weight that keeps the collar crisp and upright, preventing it from curling or sagging.
  • Double Cuff Design: The formal double cuff provides an opportunity for personal expression through cufflinks, while the included complimentary silk cuff knots offer an immediate, polished finish.
  • Taped Seams: Reinforced taped seams prevent puckering after washing, ensuring the shirt maintains its tailored structure and clean lines over time.

Design & Performance

The performance of the Prato shirt is rooted in its high-quality construction. The herringbone weave is not merely decorative; it adds a layer of structural integrity to the lightweight fabric. This weave creates a durable yet soft material that drapes elegantly. The addition of taped seams is a mark of superior garment engineering, specifically included to ensure that the areas of highest tension do not lose their shape or finish after repeated laundering.

The slim fit is precisely cut to follow the natural contours of the torso, providing a modern look that layers comfortably under a waistcoat or jacket. The long-sleeve design and double cuff arrangement make this a standard-bearer for formal business dress codes.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

To elevate your corporate branding, the Prato shirt is an excellent candidate for customisation. We recommend embroidery for this specific garment; our expert team in Telford can apply high-definition logos to the chest or collar, providing a superior finish that complements the superfine cotton. The textured herringbone weave provides a stable base for intricate needlework.

While embroidery is preferred for a sophisticated branding approach, the high-quality cotton also accepts precision printing. This is particularly effective for larger, bolder designs on the back of the shirt for event-specific requirements. All customisation is handled in-house by our specialists, who have been perfecting these techniques since 1976.

Use Cases

This shirt is specifically designed for environments where a high standard of presentation is non-negotiable. It is ideal for management teams, front-of-house staff in high-end hospitality, and legal or financial professionals who require a garment that remains crisp from the first meeting to the last. Its formal nature also makes it a sensible choice for corporate events and award ceremonies.

Practical Advice

As this is a slim-fit garment, we recommend reviewing your measurements carefully to ensure a comfortable fit across the chest and shoulders. When layering, the superfine cotton's breathability makes it an excellent base layer that won't cause overheating when worn beneath a wool-blend suit jacket.

Caring for your product

To maintain the structural integrity and the premium feel of the superfine cotton, this shirt is machine washable. We recommend following a standard cycle to ensure the fabric remains supple and the taped seams stay flat. Avoiding overly aggressive cycles will help preserve the life of the cotton fibres.

The easy-iron properties are most effective when the shirt is ironed while slightly damp. This allows the heat to smooth the herringbone weave effortlessly, ensuring the professional finish is restored without the need for excessive heat, which can over time degrade the natural fibres.

Before laundering, ensure you remove the metal collar stiffeners. Failure to do so may result in damage to both the stiffeners and the washing machine drum, and it prevents the collar from being cleaned thoroughly at the points of contact.
