Product Overview

The Bizflame Work Lightweight FR Coat is a precision-engineered solution for professionals requiring dependable flame resistance without the burden of heavy, restrictive layers. Designed specifically to be worn over primary flame-resistant garments, this coat provides an additional barrier of protection while maintaining a streamlined profile. Constructed from a highly innovative twill fabric, it offers a practical balance between safety requirements and wearer comfort in demanding industrial environments where safety cannot be compromised.

Key Features

  • Innovative Bizflame Work fabric: Comprising 99% cotton and 1% carbon fibre, this blend ensures natural breathability alongside essential protective properties for the wearer.
  • Lightweight construction: The fabric choice allows for ease of movement and reduces fatigue during long shifts, making it ideal for warmer environments or high-activity roles.
  • Specialised twill weave: The innovative twill structure provides enhanced durability, ensuring the garment stands up to the rigours of daily professional use in industrial settings.
  • Designed for layering: The generous cut allows it to fit comfortably over existing flame-resistant apparel without compromising protection or wearer comfort.

Design & Performance

The performance of this coat lies in the sophisticated composition of its Bizflame Work fabric. By utilising a high percentage of cotton, the garment remains comfortable against the body and allows for effective moisture management, which is critical when working in proximity to heat sources. The inclusion of carbon fibre provides integrated protection, while the twill weave ensures that the fabric remains resilient against mechanical stress. Despite its lightweight nature, the coat is built to maintain its structural integrity and protective qualities through repeated use in tough conditions.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

At MyWorkwear, we understand that safety gear should still reflect your brand’s identity. This coat is suitable for both print and embroidery, handled by our expert team in Telford. For a permanent, high-calibre finish that withstands industrial laundering, embroidery is the preferred choice for company logos and staff names, providing a distinguished and professional appearance that lasts the life of the garment.

Alternatively, if you require larger, high-impact branding or specific safety messaging on the back of the coat, our thermal printing process offers a vibrant and crisp finish. Regardless of the method chosen, our in-house customisation ensures your branding is applied with the same attention to detail that we have maintained since our establishment in 1976.

Use Cases

This coat is an essential choice for workers in the petrochemical, utilities, and manufacturing sectors where flame-resistant protocols are strictly enforced. It is particularly useful for supervisors, visitors, or technicians who move between different zones and need a quick, reliable flame-resistant layer to wear over their standard workwear.

Why MyWorkwear

Choosing MyWorkwear means partnering with a company that has been at the forefront of the workwear industry since 1976. Based in Telford, our decades of experience allow us to provide technical advice and customisation services that few can match. We do not just supply garments; we provide engineered workwear solutions tailored to the specific safety and branding needs of British businesses.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, remember that this coat is intended to be worn over other flame-resistant clothing. We recommend choosing your standard size, as the fit is already adjusted to accommodate layering. Ensure all fastenings are securely closed during use to provide maximum protection across the torso and arms.

Caring for your product

Maintaining the protective properties of flame-resistant garments requires careful adherence to cleaning protocols to ensure the safety of the wearer is never diminished. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C using a normal process. Exceeding this temperature may damage the fibres and reduce the garment's protective lifespan.

Do not use bleach when cleaning this coat. Bleaching agents can chemically degrade the flame-resistant properties of the fabric and weaken the cotton fibres, rendering the garment unsafe for use in hazardous environments.

Tumble drying should be performed on a low setting. Excessive heat during the drying cycle can cause shrinkage and may affect the integrity of any applied customisation or the carbon fibre components within the weave.

If ironing is required to maintain a professional appearance, use a maximum sole-plate temperature of 150°C. Maintaining a moderate temperature prevents scorching and ensures the fabric remains supple. Finally, this garment must not be dry cleaned, as the industrial chemicals used in that process can interfere with the flame-resistant finish.
