Product Overview

The Bizflame Work+ FR Bib and Brace is an expertly engineered garment designed for professionals operating in environments where flame resistance and chemical protection are non-negotiable. This bib and brace provides a robust barrier against hazards while ensuring the wearer remains comfortable throughout a demanding shift. Constructed from a specialised cotton-rich fabric with integrated carbon fibres, it offers a sophisticated solution to multi-norm safety requirements without the restrictive feel of traditional heavy-duty workwear.

Key Features
  • Certified Chemical Resistance: Fully certified to EN13034 standards, providing an essential layer of protection against liquid chemical splashes in industrial settings.
  • Flame Resistant Protection: The fabric is treated to provide reliable flame resistance, ensuring safety in environments prone to heat and flame exposure.
  • Metal-Free Front Closure: Features a secure stud and zip front that is entirely metal-free, making it suitable for environments where non-conductivity is required.
  • Integrated Static Dissipation: The inclusion of carbon fibre helps prevent the build-up of static electricity, reducing the risk of sparks in volatile atmospheres.
  • Durable Cotton-Rich Fabric: The high cotton content ensures the garment is breathable and soft against the skin, whilst the technical finish ensures it stands up to the rigours of the workplace.

Design & Performance

The Bizflame Work+ fabric is a medium-weight material that strikes a precise balance between protection and wearer mobility. Composed of 99% cotton and 1% carbon fibre, the garment feels like a high-quality natural textile rather than a stiff safety uniform. The cotton provides natural breathability, which is vital for temperature regulation during physical labour, while the carbon fibre is woven directly into the matrix to provide permanent anti-static properties.

The performance of this bib and brace is further enhanced by a specialized chemical finish. This treatment is designed to repel hazardous liquids, preventing them from soaking into the fibres. The result is a garment that performs exceptionally well in multi-hazard environments, providing peace of mind to the wearer and the employer alike.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

Despite its technical finish, this bib and brace is well-suited for professional customisation. For a truly professional appearance that withstands industrial laundering, we recommend embroidery. Our Telford-based team can expertly stitch your company logo or staff names onto the chest or legs, providing a durable and high-quality finish.

Alternatively, for large, bold branding that needs to be visible from a distance, thermal printing is an excellent option. Since 1976, MyWorkwear has been refining the art of garment customisation; our in-house experts ensure that any branding applied maintains the professional integrity of your safety gear while promoting your business identity.

Use Cases

This garment is specifically designed for workers in the petrochemical, utility, and chemical processing industries. It is ideal for maintenance engineers, laboratory technicians, and site operatives who require protection from both heat and chemical splashes. It is also a sensible choice for anyone working in environments where static control is required alongside flame resistance.

Practical Advice

For comprehensive protection, we recommend pairing this bib and brace with the FR609 FR Chemical Resistant Jacket. When selecting your size, consider the layers you will be wearing underneath; a medium-weight bib and brace is versatile enough to be worn over light base layers in the summer or heavier thermal wear during the winter months.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-performance safety features of this garment, it is essential to follow the care instructions precisely. Maintaining the chemical and flame-resistant properties depends on correct laundering.

We recommend a normal process wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C. Exceeding this temperature may degrade the chemical finish and the integrity of the cotton fibres, potentially compromising the protective barrier of the garment.

Do not use bleach under any circumstances. Bleaching agents will destroy the flame-resistant treatment and weaken the fabric structure, rendering the garment unsafe for use in hazardous environments.

If using a tumble dryer, select a low heat setting. High heat during drying can lead to excessive shrinkage, which may affect the fit and comfort of the bib and brace. For best results, iron at a maximum temperature of 150°C to keep the garment looking sharp.

It is important to note that the chemical resistance is often rated for a specific number of washes. We advise monitoring the garment's condition closely after five washes to ensure it still meets your safety requirements. Do not dry clean this product, as the chemicals used in that process can interfere with the technical finishes of the Bizflame fabric.
