Product Overview

The PW3 Modaflame Rain+ Hi-Vis FR Winter Holster Trousers are engineered for professionals operating in the most demanding and hazardous environments. Combining flame-resistant properties with protection against rain and chemicals, these trousers offer a multi-norm solution that does not compromise on safety or comfort. As part of the contemporary PW3 range, they feature a stylish two-tone design coupled with practical innovations specifically designed to assist you through the winter months while maintaining a professional appearance.

Key Features

  • Detachable holster pockets provide versatile storage for tools and equipment, allowing you to adapt your trousers to the task at hand or remove them when not required.
  • Two-tier bottom-loading knee pad pockets offer adjustable positioning for protection, essential for those spending extended periods working at ground level.
  • Zipped side leg openings facilitate easier donning and removal, ensuring the trousers can be pulled over substantial work boots with ease.
  • A high ARC rating ensures superior protection against thermal hazards from electric arcs, a critical safety requirement for electrical and utility workers.

Design & Performance

The foundation of these trousers is the Modaflame Rain+ HV fabric, a sophisticated blend of modacrylic, cotton, and carbon fibre. This proprietary fabric provides inherent flame resistance and anti-static properties. The 7mm ripstop weave is a well-engineered feature that prevents small tears from spreading, significantly extending the garment's lifespan in harsh industrial conditions.

For winter performance, the trousers include a flame-resistant cotton lining and a specialised polyester filling. This combination provides substantial thermal insulation to keep the wearer warm without excessive bulk. The PU coating ensures the garment is highly waterproof, while the HiVisTex Pro Flame reflective tape ensures you remain visible in low-light conditions, meeting strict safety standards for weather and visibility protection.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

Maintaining the integrity of flame-resistant garments during customisation is paramount. At MyWorkwear, our Telford-based team, established in 1976, understands the technical requirements for branding high-specification safety gear. We offer both embroidery and print options to help your business maintain a superior finish.

Embroidery is often selected for a professional look, providing a durable and high-quality finish for company logos on the upper sections of the trousers. For larger, more striking branding, high-quality heat-applied prints can be used. Our experts ensure that any customisation applied maintains the safety standards of the original garment, ensuring your team looks professional without compromising protection.

Use Cases

These trousers are specifically designed for workers in the petrochemical, utility, and rail industries who require protection from multiple hazards. They are particularly suited for outdoor maintenance during the winter months, where rain, cold, and the risk of flame or electric arc are present simultaneously.

Why MyWorkwear

When you choose us, you are partnering with a team that values technical precision and understands the critical importance of safety-compliant workwear.

Practical Advice

Given the integrated thermal filling, these trousers are designed to be worn over standard base layers. When selecting your size, consider the movement required for your specific trade; the two-tier knee pad pockets are most effective when the trouser length is correctly matched to your height to ensure the pads sit correctly when kneeling.

Caring for your product

To preserve the specialised flame-resistant and waterproof properties of the Modaflame Rain+ HV fabric, it is essential to follow the recommended care routine. Proper maintenance ensures the protective fibres and chemical treatments remain effective for the life of the garment.

We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Higher temperatures or aggressive cycles can degrade the PU coating and damage the reflective tape, compromising both visibility and water resistance.

Do not use bleach, as chlorine-based cleaners will destroy the flame-retardant properties of the fabric and weaken the ripstop structure. The garment should be drip-line dried rather than tumble-dried; excessive heat in a dryer can cause shrinkage and damage the technical carbon fibres.

Ironing and dry cleaning must be avoided entirely. High heat from an iron or the chemicals used in dry cleaning processes can melt the waterproof coating and permanently damage the multi-norm integrity of the trousers.
