Product Overview
The Bizflame 88/12 Stretch FR Trousers represent a significant advancement in protective workwear, designed for professionals who require flame resistance without sacrificing mobility. Engineered with a slim fit and a contemporary khaki finish, these trousers provide reliable protection against the thermal hazards of an electric arc. The garment wash finish ensures they feel comfortable from the very first wear, bridging the gap between high-specification safety gear and ergonomic daily workwear.
Key Features
- Electric Arc Protection: Designed specifically to mitigate the risks of thermal hazards, ensuring wearer safety in high-risk electrical environments.
- Two-Way Stretch Fabric: The inclusion of elastane allows the garment to move with the body, reducing resistance when bending or kneeling.
- Slim Fit Design: Offers a modern, professional silhouette that reduces excess fabric, decreasing the risk of snagging on machinery or equipment.
- Garment Washed Finish: This process softens the fabric and provides a broken-in feel, enhancing comfort during long shifts.
Design & Performance
Constructed from Bizflame 88/12 Stretch fabric, these trousers are a masterclass in technical textile engineering. The composition consists of 86% cotton for natural breathability, 12% nylon for exceptional tensile strength and durability, and 2% elastane for essential flexibility. This substantial, sturdy fabric is designed to withstand the rigours of industrial environments while maintaining its shape and protective qualities.
The 2-way stretch functionality is particularly beneficial for tradespeople who are constantly on the move, providing mobility that traditional, rigid flame-resistant materials often lack. Despite its flexible nature, the fabric remains robust, ensuring the trousers serve as a long-lasting component of your safety uniform.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
At MyWorkwear, we understand that your clothing is an extension of your brand. These trousers are suitable for both print and embroidery customisation. Embroidery is highly recommended for adding company logos or staff names, providing a sophisticated, permanent finish that withstands industrial laundering. For larger, more prominent branding, our high-quality printing processes ensure your design remains visible and sharp.
Our expert team in Telford has been refining these processes since 1976, ensuring that every garment leaving our facility meets our exacting standards for quality and durability. We manage all customisation in-house to maintain complete control over the finished product.
Use Cases
These trousers are ideally suited for professionals working in the power generation, petrochemical, and electrical engineering sectors. They are an excellent choice for electricians, maintenance technicians, and site managers who require certified flame-resistant protection combined with a modern, slim-fitting appearance that transitions well from the site to the office.

Practical Advice
Given the slim fit nature of these trousers, we recommend reviewing your measurements carefully to ensure a comfortable fit. The stretch fabric provides some latitude, but a precise fit is essential for the flame-resistant properties to perform effectively. For those working in colder environments, these trousers layer well over thin, flame-resistant base layers without becoming restrictive.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-performance standards of the Bizflame fabric and ensure the longevity of your custom branding, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Using higher temperatures may degrade the elastane fibres over time, affecting the stretch and fit of the garment.
It is critical that you do not use bleach when laundering these trousers. Bleaching agents can chemically alter the flame-resistant treatment of the fabric, potentially compromising your safety. For drying, a low-temperature tumble dry is acceptable, though line drying in the shade is preferred to prevent unnecessary wear and preserve the khaki colour.
If ironing is required, use a maximum temperature of 110°C. Excessive heat can damage the nylon and elastane components of the technical weave. Finally, do not dry clean this garment, as the chemicals used in the process may interfere with the flame-resistant finish.
