Product Overview

The Nimbus Women’s Rochester is a refined interpretation of the traditional Oxford shirt, designed with a focus on Scandinavian minimalism and superior tailoring. Crafted from premium 100% fine combed cotton, this garment balances professional structure with a soft, lived-in feel thanks to its garment-washed finish. It is an ideal choice for businesses seeking a sophisticated uniform that does not compromise on comfort or durability. The feminine styling and meticulous attention to detail ensure a look that is both modern and timeless.

Key Features
  • Shaped pleats and a curved hem provide a tailored, feminine silhouette that looks professional whether tucked in or worn for a more casual, untucked look.
  • Buttons in a mother-of-pearl colour offer a subtle, high-end aesthetic detail that elevates the overall appearance of the shirt.
  • The classic Oxford weave fabric ensures a durable and breathable garment that stands up to the rigours of daily wear while maintaining a crisp appearance.
  • Creative tailoring features and toned contrast details add a contemporary touch to a wardrobe staple, reflecting Nimbuss commitment to design excellence.

Design & Performance

This shirt is constructed from 100% combed and mercerised cotton. The mercerisation process increases the strength of the cotton fibres while giving the fabric a subtle lustre and improved dye affinity. This means your corporate colours will look more vibrant and the fabric will resist pilling over time, ensuring the garment remains in service for longer. The Oxford weave provides a substantial, medium-weight feel that is both breathable and structured, ensuring the shirt maintains its shape throughout a demanding working day.

Being garment-washed, the Rochester avoids the stiffness often associated with new work shirts, offering a comfortable fit from the very first wear. The addition of shaped pleats ensures the garment follows the natural contours of the body, providing a professional fit that does not restrict movement.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The Rochester is an excellent canvas for both print and embroidery, though the textured Oxford weave is particularly well-suited to high-quality embroidery. Our in-house team in Telford, with expertise dating back to 1976, recommends embroidery for chest logos or staff names to achieve a truly professional and long-lasting finish. The density of the Oxford fabric supports detailed needlework without puckering.

For larger, more graphic designs, our advanced printing techniques ensure a bold result that complements the sophisticated aesthetic of the Nimbus brand. Whether you require a subtle tonal logo or a prominent company identity, each piece is handled with care to ensure your branding aligns perfectly with the garment's premium construction.

Use Cases

The sophisticated styling makes this shirt a versatile choice for a range of professional environments. It is perfectly suited for hospitality front-of-house staff, corporate office wear, or as part of a high-end retail uniform. Its preppy yet professional look ensures it fits naturally in both traditional and modern business settings where first impressions are paramount.

Practical Advice

This shirt is available in a broad size range from XS (UK 8) to 2XL (UK 18), catering to a wide variety of team members. Given the tailored fit and shaped pleats, we recommend referring to the size guide to ensure the best silhouette. It layers exceptionally well under a premium knit jumper or a blazer for a more formal corporate appearance, but is substantial enough to be worn as a standalone piece.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance and professional appearance of your mercerised cotton shirt, proper care is essential. Following the care instructions on the sewn tag will prevent the natural cotton fibres from shrinking or losing their shape prematurely, ensuring your investment lasts as long as possible.

Avoid the use of harsh bleaching agents, as these can break down the mercerised finish and weaken the fabric structure, leading to a loss of the shirt's characteristic lustre. When ironing, use a heat setting appropriate for cotton to remove creases from the Oxford weave without scorching the fibres or damaging any embroidered branding.
