Product Overview
The Larkwood LW52T is a meticulously designed long-sleeve baby bodysuit that serves as a premium canvas for custom branding. Constructed from 100% cotton interlock, this garment provides a soft, medium-weight feel that is gentle on infant skin while offering the structural integrity required for high-quality decoration. Every detail, from the envelope neckline to the choice of hardware, has been selected to ensure the garment is as practical for the wearer as it is versatile for the business owner.
Key Features
The envelope neckline is a critical design element, allowing the garment to be easily pulled down over the body rather than over the head, which is essential for managing messy situations with minimal fuss.
Bottom YKK popper fastenings provide industry-leading reliability and security, ensuring the bodysuit stays in place during movement while allowing for quick and efficient nappy changes.
The self-coloured edging around the neck and leg openings offers a clean, sophisticated finish that maintains the garment's shape over time.
Long sleeves provide extra coverage and warmth, making this an ideal base layer or standalone piece for cooler environments.
Design & Performance
The use of 100% cotton interlock fabric is a deliberate choice for this bodysuit. Interlock is a double-knit construction that is thicker and more stable than standard jersey, meaning it won't lose its shape after a few washes. This medium-weight fabric offers a smooth surface that is exceptionally well-suited for both print and embroidery, as it provides a firm foundation that prevents the fabric from puckering under the tension of stitches or stretching under the heat of a press.
Furthermore, the garment carries prestigious accreditations including Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Amfori BSCI, and SEDEX. These certifications offer peace of mind regarding the ethical standards of production and the safety of the textiles used, which is of paramount importance for infant wear.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The Larkwood bodysuit has been specifically designed to accommodate various customisation methods. Embroidery is an excellent choice for creating a sophisticated and durable finish, such as small logos or individual names, which can withstand frequent laundering without losing their detail. The interlock fabric is substantial enough to support high-density stitch counts without sagging.
For those looking to apply larger, more vibrant graphics or promotional designs, our printing services are ideal. The smooth, flat surface of the cotton ensures that transfers and inks adhere perfectly, resulting in crisp lines and bold colours. Our in-house team in Telford, established in 1976, manages the entire process to ensure your branding is executed with precision.
Use Cases
This bodysuit is a versatile choice for several applications. It is frequently used by boutique children's clothing brands as a base for their own unique designs, or by companies looking for high-quality promotional items for corporate gifting and family-oriented events. It is also an excellent option for personalised gifts, where the quality of the garment reflects the care put into the customisation.
Why MyWorkwear
Choosing MyWorkwear means partnering with a company that has nearly half a century of expertise. Based in Telford and established in 1976, we have seen every evolution in garment decoration. Our technical knowledge ensures that we don't just put a logo on a shirt; we understand the science of fabrics and the mechanics of embroidery to deliver a product that lasts. We treat every order, from single units to large-scale production runs, with the same level of professional scrutiny.
Practical Advice
The bodysuit is available in a size range from 0/3 months up to 12/18 months. When choosing a size, we recommend referring to the height measurements provided in the size guide (e.g., 62cm for 0/3 months) to ensure a comfortable fit. As this is a 100% cotton garment, it works excellently as a breathable base layer under dungarees or jumpers in colder weather, or as a standalone top when conditions are milder.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-quality finish of this bodysuit and any custom branding applied to it, we recommend a domestic wash at 40°C on a cotton cycle. This temperature is effective for removing typical stains while ensuring the cotton fibres do not suffer from premature wear.
Do not use bleach, as harsh chemicals will break down the natural cotton fibres and cause the colours to fade or yellow. Additionally, the garment should not be tumble dried; air drying is essential to prevent shrinkage and to ensure any printed designs do not crack or peel due to excessive heat.
When ironing, use a medium heat setting (two dots) to remove creases. It is vital that you do not iron directly onto any printed or embroidered motifs, as the heat can melt the print transfers or damage the embroidery threads. Always iron the garment on the reverse side where decoration is present. Finally, ensure dark colours are washed separately to prevent any colour transfer onto lighter fabrics.
