Product Overview

The Larkwood LW500 Essential short-sleeved bodysuit is a foundational garment for infant wear, engineered with a focus on both comfort and practical utility. Crafted from 100% cotton single jersey, this bodysuit provides a soft, breathable surface against delicate skin while maintaining the durability required for everyday use. Its thoughtful design, featuring an envelope neck and high-quality fastenings, makes it an excellent choice for businesses looking to provide branded babywear or for childcare organisations requiring a professional uniform.

Key Features

  • Envelope neck design: This allows the garment to expand easily over the head, making dressing and undressing significantly less stressful for both the infant and the carer.
  • YKK popper fastening: The use of industry-standard YKK poppers at the bottom ensures a secure closure that remains reliable through numerous changes.
  • Tagless size tab: With only a size tab present, this garment is perfectly designed for easy relabelling, allowing businesses to establish their own brand identity with minimal fuss.
  • Binding on neck and cuff: Reinforced binding helps the garment retain its shape and prevents the edges from stretching or fraying over time.

Design & Performance

This bodysuit is constructed from a lightweight single jersey fabric that offers a smooth and consistent finish. The 100% cotton composition ensures maximum breathability, which is vital for maintaining a comfortable temperature for infants. In terms of performance, the fabric is resilient enough to handle frequent laundering, while the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 accreditation provides peace of mind that the material is safe for contact with young skin. The unisex design and wide size range from birth to 18 months ensure it meets a variety of requirements.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The smooth surface of the single jersey fabric makes the LW500 an ideal candidate for customisation. For those seeking a sophisticated and high-end feel, embroidery is a superb choice for adding small logos or individual names, providing a durable and professional appearance. If your requirements involve larger, more vibrant graphics or bold branding, our high-quality printing process is perfectly suited to this material. Our in-house team in Telford has been perfecting these techniques since 1976, ensuring that your branding is applied with precision and care.

Use Cases

This bodysuit is highly versatile and fits a variety of professional contexts. It is a popular choice for nurseries and early years providers who want a cohesive look for their charges. Additionally, it is an essential item for retail startups looking to launch their own branded baby clothing line, or for corporate gifting when welcoming a new arrival to the team.

Practical Advice

When selecting sizes, we recommend referring to the height measurements provided in the size guide rather than just the age range to ensure a more accurate fit. Because this is a lightweight cotton garment, it works exceptionally well as a base layer under sleepsuits or jumpers during the cooler months without adding excessive bulk.

Caring for your product

To ensure this bodysuit maintains its shape and softness, it should be washed at 40°C on a cotton cycle. This temperature is effective for cleaning while being gentle enough to preserve the integrity of the cotton fibres. It is important to wash dark colours separately to prevent any potential dye transfer that could dull the garment's appearance.

Do not use bleach, as this will weaken the natural fibres and could cause significant damage to any custom branding. We also advise against tumble drying; allowing the garment to air dry naturally will help prevent shrinkage and keep the YKK poppers in good working order. Dry cleaning is also not recommended for this fabric type.

When ironing, use a medium (two-dot) setting. Crucially, do not iron directly onto any printed or embroidered motifs, as the heat can damage the decoration and affect the finish of your logo.
