Product Overview
The Yoko Hi-vis heavyweight fleece jacket is a robust and essential piece of safetywear designed for professionals working in demanding environments where both visibility and warmth are non-negotiable. Constructed from a dense, heavyweight polyester fabric, this jacket offers significant thermal insulation without compromising on the mobility required for manual labour. It serves as a primary outer layer in cold conditions, ensuring the wearer remains both comfortable and conspicuous under varied lighting conditions.
Key Features
- EN ISO20471 Class 3 Compliance: This jacket meets the highest European safety standard for visibility, ensuring you are seen by fast-moving vehicles and heavy machinery operators.
- 3M Reflective Tapes: Utilising two bands and braces of genuine 3M reflective material, the jacket provides superior light retro-reflection, which is critical for night-time and low-light safety.
- Railway Industry Standard (RIS-3279-TOM): The orange and orange/navy colourways are fully approved for use in the UK railway industry, making them suitable for trackside work.
- Thermal High-Neck Collar: The comfort collar provides an extra layer of protection against wind chill, shielding the neck area and retaining vital body heat.
- Elasticated Cuffs and Hem: These features ensure a secure, comfort-fit that prevents cold draughts from entering the garment, maintaining a stable microclimate for the wearer.
Design & Performance
The performance of this fleece is rooted in its heavyweight 100% polyester construction. Unlike standard lightweight alternatives, this fabric is specifically chosen for its density and ability to trap air, providing a superior thermal barrier. The inclusion of two lower welted pockets provides practical storage for essential tools or personal items, while the full-length matching colour zip ensures a professional and unified appearance.
In terms of durability, the polyester fibres are resistant to the typical wear and tear of industrial sites. The fabric choice ensures that even after repeated use in harsh conditions, the jacket retains its shape and insulating properties. The comfort-fit design allows for ease of movement, which is vital for personnel in the airport, mining, or maintenance sectors who require a full range of motion while remaining protected.
Customisation: Embroidery Only
Due to the thick, textured pile of this heavyweight fleece, we offer customisation exclusively through embroidery. Heat-applied prints or screen printing cannot achieve a stable or aesthetic bond with the fleece fibres, often resulting in peeling or a distorted finish. Embroidery, however, creates a premium, permanent mark that sits within the fabric, ensuring your company logo remains vibrant and intact for the life of the garment.
Our in-house embroidery team, based in Telford, has been perfecting this craft since 1976. We use high-tensile threads and precision machinery to ensure that your branding is as hard-wearing as the jacket itself, maintaining a professional corporate image even in the toughest working conditions.
Use Cases
This jacket is specifically engineered for high-risk and high-activity sectors. It is the preferred choice for airport ground personnel, couriers, and offshore mining staff who face consistent exposure to the elements. Furthermore, its compliance with rail and road safety standards makes it indispensable for road maintenance staff, refuse collectors, and railway trackside workers who require maximum visibility and warmth during winter months.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, please note that this fleece is designed with a comfort-fit to allow for layering. If you intend to wear it over a heavy sweatshirt or work shirt, we recommend sticking to your standard size as indicated in our guide, which covers S to 3XL. For those working in rail environments, ensure you select the Orange or Orange/Navy options to remain compliant with industry regulations.
Caring for your product
Maintaining the integrity of high-visibility garments is crucial for ensuring they continue to meet safety standards. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a synthetic cycle. Washing at higher temperatures or using biological powders can degrade the polyester fibres and diminish the effectiveness of the reflective tapes.
Do not bleach this garment, as chemical agents will damage the fluorescent dyes and the reflective material. We also advise against ironing, as the high heat will melt the polyester fibres and ruin the fleece texture. To dry, simply allow the jacket to air dry; do not tumble dry or wring the garment, as mechanical stress can damage the adhesive backing of the 3M reflective tapes.
Please be aware that this garment has a maximum limit of 25 wash cycles to ensure it remains within its safety certification. Beyond this point, the reflective and fluorescent properties may no longer meet the required Class 3 standards, and the garment should be replaced to ensure continued protection.
