Product Overview
The Uneek UC802 Long Sleeve Hi Vis Safety Waistcoat is a vital component for professionals operating in environments where visibility is not just a preference, but a strict safety requirement. By extending the traditional waistcoat design to include long sleeves, this garment ensures the wearer achieves the highest level of visibility standards, making it an essential piece of personal protective equipment for high-risk sites.
Key Features
- EN471 Class 3 Approved: This rating ensures the highest level of visibility, making the wearer noticeable in complex environments and at higher speeds.
- GO/RT 3279 Issue 8 Compliant: The orange colourway meets specific UK rail industry standards, ensuring safety for those working on or near the tracks.
- Retro-Reflective Strips: Featuring 50mm wide strips around the body, arms, and over the shoulders to provide 360-degree visibility in low-light conditions.
- Velcro Fastening: Provides a secure fit while allowing for quick and easy removal, which is a practical safety feature in busy environments.
- Black Polyester Bound Edges: This finishing detail prevents fraying and increases the overall lifespan of the waistcoat under daily use.
Design & Performance
Crafted from 100% polyester, this waistcoat is designed as a lightweight outer layer that provides maximum safety without adding unnecessary bulk. The lightweight fabric ensures that the garment is breathable and does not restrict movement, which is critical for those performing physical labour throughout the day.
The design features a '2 band and 2 brace' configuration, which is the industry standard for ensuring the human form is easily recognisable from a distance. The choice of polyester ensures the garment is durable and retains its fluorescent colour after repeated wear. Furthermore, being UKCA and CE certified, you can be confident that this waistcoat meets all necessary health and safety requirements for the UK and European markets.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Professionalism and safety go hand-in-hand. This waistcoat is perfectly suited for both print and embroidery, allowing you to display your company branding clearly. Embroidery is an excellent choice for a professional finish, particularly for company logos or staff names, providing a durable solution that withstands the rigours of the workplace.
For those requiring larger, more prominent designs, our high-quality printing process ensures your branding is bold and easily legible. All customisation is managed by our expert in-house team in Telford. Having been established in 1976, we have decades of experience in ensuring that your branding is applied accurately without compromising the safety certifications of the garment.
Use Cases
This garment is engineered for high-risk environments. It is particularly suited for workers on high-speed roads, construction sites with heavy machinery, and the UK rail network. Because it achieves Class 3 status, it is the standard choice for any operative who needs to be visible in all lighting conditions and against varied backgrounds.

Practical Advice
As this is a safety waistcoat intended to be worn over other clothing, we recommend considering the thickness of your base layers. If you are frequently wearing thick sweatshirts or jackets during the winter months, you may find that sizing up provides a more comfortable fit. The long sleeves offer extra protection and visibility but should be checked to ensure they do not interfere with specific manual tasks.
Caring for your product
To ensure the reflective materials and fluorescent dyes continue to protect you effectively, we recommend a domestic wash at 40°C. Washing at this temperature helps to remove site grime without damaging the technical properties of the fabric.
Please note that this garment is certified for up to 25 washes. Exceeding this limit can result in the degradation of the reflective strips and the fluorescent intensity, potentially compromising its safety rating. We strongly advise against the use of bleach or harsh chemicals, as these will strip the colour and reduce the garment's visibility.
