Product Overview

The Stormtech Avalante ¼-zip fleece (ST208) is a sophisticated choice for professionals who require a blend of environmental responsibility and high-performance outerwear. Crafted from a substantial heavyweight polyester fleece, this garment is part of the Pure Earth collection, reflecting a commitment to sustainability without compromising on technical capability. The design focuses on freedom of movement and thermal regulation, making it a reliable layer for those who find themselves working in unpredictable British weather.

Key Features

  • Articulated shoulders ensure a full range of motion, allowing the wearer to move freely during physical tasks without the garment riding up or feeling restrictive.

  • The extended ¼-zip front allows for rapid ventilation when the workload increases, while the low-profile chin saver prevents the zip from irritating the skin when fully closed.

  • A secure zippered pocket provides a safe location for essential items, ensuring valuables remain protected during active use.

  • As part of the Pure Earth sustainable collection, the use of 75% recycled polyester helps reduce environmental impact, aligning your corporate identity with green initiatives.

Design & Performance

This fleece is engineered from a heavyweight fabric that offers exceptional warmth and durability. The blend of 75% recycled polyester and 25% standard polyester fleece results in a dense, soft-touch material that retains heat effectively while remaining breathable. The construction is robust, designed to withstand the rigours of daily professional wear. Its sleek profile and technical details, such as the chin saver and precise stitching, ensure it looks as good as it performs, providing a professional silhouette that maintains its shape over time.

Customisation: Embroidery Only

This garment is reserved for embroidery only because the deep, textured pile of a heavyweight fleece does not provide the smooth surface required for high-quality print adhesion. Embroidery is the superior choice here; our in-house team at MyWorkwear, drawing on decades of experience since 1976, uses high-tensile threads that sit securely within the fleece fibres. This creates a durable, three-dimensional finish that won't peel or crack, ensuring your company logo remains sharp and professional throughout the life of the garment.

Use Cases

The Avalante fleece is ideal for site managers, surveyors, and field engineers who require a smart yet functional outer layer. Its technical appearance also makes it suitable for corporate events held outdoors or as a premium addition to a staff uniform in the logistics and transport sectors. It functions perfectly as a standalone piece in cool weather or as an insulating mid-layer beneath a waterproof shell during harsher winter months.

Why MyWorkwear

MyWorkwear has been a cornerstone of the UK workwear industry since 1976. Based in Telford, our heritage is built on technical expertise and a deep understanding of what British businesses need. When you choose us, you aren't just buying a fleece; you are benefiting from nearly half a century of garment customisation experience. Our in-house production ensures that every stitch meets our exacting standards before it leaves our facility.

Practical Advice

The Avalante features a standard fit. To ensure the best appearance and comfort, we recommend measuring across the fullest part of the chest to match the sizing guide, which ranges from a 35-inch chest for Small up to 50 inches for 2XL. If you intend to wear this as a mid-layer over a heavy shirt, you may wish to consider the room required for movement. The articulated shoulders are designed to accommodate activity, so your usual size should provide ample mobility.

Caring for your product

To maintain the thermal performance and structural integrity of your fleece, a consistent care routine is essential.

We recommend a cool wash at 30°C. Using higher temperatures can damage the recycled polyester fibres and may cause the fleece to lose its characteristic soft texture over time. A cool wash is also more energy-efficient and gentler on the embroidered logo.

Avoid using bleach or harsh chemical cleaners, as these will degrade the fabric's colour and can weaken the embroidery threads, leading to premature wear. Drying the garment naturally is preferred; excessive heat from a tumble dryer can cause shrinkage and affect the zip's functionality.
