Product Overview

The Russell Europe Hydraplus 2000 jacket is a versatile piece of technical outerwear designed to balance performance with value. It addresses the needs of active professionals who require protection from the elements without the bulk of a heavy winter coat. Engineered with a contemporary aesthetic, this jacket serves as a dependable layer for various outdoor work environments, providing a professional appearance that belies its entry-level price point.

Key Features
  • Active fit with articulated elbows and raglan sleeves: These design choices ensure the garment moves with the wearer, reducing restriction during physical tasks and improving overall comfort.
  • Stowaway 3-piece hood: Offers immediate protection when the weather turns, while remaining neatly concealed when not in use to maintain a professional profile.
  • Reverse YKK front zip with cord pull: Provides a secure, reliable closure that is easy to operate even while wearing gloves.
  • Zipped handwarmer pockets: Includes an internal pocket specifically for mobile devices or MP3 players, keeping technology secure and accessible.
  • Storm flap with rain channel: An essential barrier that prevents water ingress through the zip, ensuring the wearer remains dry during persistent rain.

Design & Performance

Constructed from 100% Nylon taslan, the fabric is PU coated with critically taped seams to provide a waterproof barrier up to 2000mm. While being effectively water-resistant, the material remains breathable, allowing moisture to escape at a rate of 2000 per 24 hours. This balance is critical for preventing discomfort during periods of exertion. The lightweight nature of the fabric makes it an excellent choice for year-round use, either as a standalone layer or as part of a more comprehensive uniform system. The inclusion of a soft-touch inner collar adds a layer of comfort against the skin, preventing irritation during long shifts.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The Hydraplus 2000 is exceptionally well-suited for branding. It features a discreet concealed decoration access at the hem, which allows for clean, professional application of logos without disturbing the lining or the jacket's structural integrity. Embroidery is highly recommended for corporate logos or staff names, providing a sophisticated, long-lasting finish that reinforces brand authority. For larger, more vibrant promotional graphics, our high-quality print services offer a bold visual impact. All customisation is managed in-house by our expert team in Telford, drawing on nearly five decades of experience.

Use Cases

This jacket is ideal for site supervisors, logistics staff, and professionals in the service industry who transition between indoor and outdoor environments. Its sleek profile and technical features also make it suitable for customer-facing roles where a tidy, uniform appearance is required regardless of the British weather.

Practical Advice

The active fit of this jacket is designed to be streamlined. If you intend to wear heavy knitwear or multiple thick layers underneath, we recommend reviewing the chest measurements provided to ensure you select a size that allows for adequate movement across the shoulders.

Caring for your product

To maintain the technical performance of the Hydraplus 2000, it is vital to follow the specific care instructions. Regular maintenance ensures the waterproof coating remains effective and the garment continues to look its best for the long term.

We recommend a gentle machine wash at 30°C. Using a higher temperature can damage the PU coating and the taped seams, potentially compromising the jacket's water-resistant properties and leading to a soggy afternoon on-site.

When drying, use a low-temperature tumble dry setting. Excessive heat can cause the nylon fabric to warp or shrink, affecting the overall fit and professional appearance of the jacket.

Crucially, do not use fabric softeners. These chemicals can coat the fibres and clog the breathable pores of the fabric, effectively rendering the breathability of the jacket useless and leaving you rather clammy.
