Product Overview
The Result Workguard RE71A is a meticulously engineered pilot jacket designed for those who require versatility and resilience in their daily workwear. Built with heavy-duty materials, this garment provides robust protection against the elements, being both water-repellent and windproof. Its most notable feature is the modular design; the sleeves can be zipped out to transform the jacket into a highly functional bodywarmer, allowing the wearer to adapt to fluctuating temperatures or high-intensity tasks without changing garments.
Constructed with a 600D Taslon outer shell and reinforced with PU coating, this jacket is designed to withstand the rigours of demanding environments. The interior features Thermoprotec insulation and an active fleece-lined collar by Result, ensuring that warmth is retained during colder shifts. With its extensive array of pockets and safety-conscious reflective detailing, it represents a comprehensive solution for the modern professional.
Key Features
- Zip-out Sleeves: Offers the flexibility to convert the jacket into a bodywarmer, making it suitable for year-round use across varying climates.
- 600D Taslon Fabric: A high-performance, heavy-duty outer material that provides exceptional durability and resistance to wear and tear.
- Comprehensive Pocket System: Includes two deep front patch pockets, chest pockets with pen holders, a sleeve pocket, and dedicated internal storage for phones and larger items.
- 3M Scotchlite™ Reflective Materials: Integrated piping on the front, back, and sleeves ensures enhanced visibility in low-light conditions.
- Reinforced Construction: Bar-tacked stress points and reinforced seams ensure the garment maintains its structural integrity under physical strain.
Design & Performance
The design of the RE71A prioritises both protection and wearer comfort. The 600D Taslon outer fabric is substantial, offering a sturdy barrier against wind and light rain, while the PU coating enhances its water-repellent properties. Inside, the Thermoprotec insulation provides significant thermal retention without adding excessive bulk, complemented by a smooth 190T Nylon taffeta lining that allows the jacket to glide easily over mid-layers.
Performance is further enhanced by practical details such as the knitted elasticated waist and cuffs, which serve to seal in heat and provide a secure fit. The inclusion of cable loops for headphones and multiple D-rings—one of which is concealed—demonstrates a thoughtful approach to the needs of the modern tradesperson. The full front zip is protected by a stud-closing storm flap, preventing wind penetration through the fastening.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The Result Workguard RE71A is an ideal canvas for corporate branding, specifically designed with customisation in mind. It features a semi-removable breast pocket and a concealed inner back zip to provide easy access for decoration machinery, ensuring a clean finish without compromising the garment's lining.
Embroidery is highly recommended for this jacket, as the heavy-duty fabric provides a stable base for high-density stitching. This method offers a professional, long-lasting appearance for company logos and staff names. Alternatively, for larger, high-impact graphics, digital or screen print transfers are available. All customisation is managed in-house at our Telford facility by our expert team, drawing on nearly five decades of experience to ensure your branding is executed with precision.
Use Cases
This pilot jacket is particularly well-suited for professionals in the construction, logistics, and engineering sectors. Its ability to transition from a full jacket to a bodywarmer makes it indispensable for warehouse managers who move between cold storage and heated offices, or for site workers who need maximum arm mobility for technical tasks while keeping their core warm.

Practical Advice
The RE71A is designed with a generous fit to accommodate layering. When selecting your size, consider what you intend to wear underneath; if you frequently wear heavy knitwear or multiple layers, your standard size should provide ample room. The elasticated waist and cuffs ensure the jacket maintains its shape even when the sleeves are removed.
Caring for your product
To maintain the performance and longevity of this well-engineered garment, it is essential to follow the specific care instructions provided. Proper maintenance ensures that the water-repellent coating and the integrity of your custom branding remain intact over time.
We recommend a machine wash at 30 degrees. Higher temperatures can degrade the PU coating and damage the reflective 3M Scotchlite™ piping, potentially reducing the jacket's weather resistance and visibility. Do not use bleach, as this will weaken the heavy-duty Taslon fibres and cause significant discolouration to both the fabric and your embroidered logo.
This jacket should not be tumble dried or ironed. Excessive heat from these processes can melt the synthetic fibres and the internal insulation, leading to a loss of shape and thermal efficiency. Likewise, dry cleaning should be avoided to prevent chemical damage to the water-repellent finish.
