Product Overview
The ProRTX Pro tradesman trousers are a cornerstone of professional workwear, engineered for individuals who require more from their clothing than just a simple covering. These trousers are constructed from a robust polycotton fabric that balances the resilience of polyester with the natural breathability of cotton. Designed to withstand the daily demands of physical labour, they feature a multi-functional layout that ensures tools, hardware, and mobile devices are always securely positioned and easily accessible.
Key Features
- Part-Elasticated Waistband: The inclusion of elastic within the waistband provides essential flexibility, allowing the garment to move with the wearer during bending or crouching while maintaining a secure fit.
- External Knee Pad Pockets: Designed with tear-and-release fastenings, these pockets allow for the quick insertion of protective padding, safeguarding the wearer against the long-term impact of working on hard surfaces.
- Comprehensive Utility Storage: With dedicated pockets for rulers, mobile phones, and general tools, plus a dedicated hammer loop, these trousers eliminate the need for excessive tool belts in many scenarios.
- Twin-Needle Stitching: Reinforced stitching on the hem ensures the trousers do not fray or come apart under the stress of heavy use, significantly extending the lifespan of the garment.
Design & Performance
Performance is at the heart of the RX603 design. The medium-weight fabric is substantial enough to offer protection against abrasions while remaining light enough to prevent overheating during active shifts. The 65% polyester and 35% cotton composition is a deliberate choice for the trades; the polyester provides excellent colour retention and crease resistance, while the cotton ensures comfort against the skin.
The addition of a zip fly front fastening and sturdy belt loops provides a traditional, secure closure that stands up to the rigours of a manual working environment. Every element, from the patch pockets at the rear to the utility pockets on the legs, has been positioned to distribute weight evenly, preventing the trousers from pulling or becoming cumbersome when fully loaded.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The Pro tradesman trousers are an excellent canvas for company branding, and at MyWorkwear, we offer both print and embroidery services handled by our expert Telford-based team. Given the high-activity nature of these trousers, embroidery is the preferred choice for small logos or staff names, providing a sophisticated, long-lasting finish that can withstand industrial laundering.
For larger, high-visibility branding on the leg or rear pockets, heat-applied printing offers a sharp, vibrant alternative that ensures your brand is easily identifiable on-site. Since 1976, we have been perfecting these techniques to ensure your logo remains as durable as the garment it is applied to.
Use Cases
These trousers are the ideal choice for tradespeople across various sectors, including construction, plumbing, electrical engineering, and carpentry. Their professional appearance and practical features also make them suitable for warehouse managers and site supervisors who require a garment that can transition from the office to the workshop without hesitation.
Why MyWorkwear
With a heritage dating back to 1976, MyWorkwear has decades of experience in selecting and customising garments that actually work for the person wearing them. Based in Telford, our team manages the entire process in-house, ensuring that every pair of trousers leaving our facility meets our rigorous standards for quality and precision.
Practical Advice
Available in sizes ranging from S to 4XL and in both regular and long leg lengths, these trousers are designed to fit a wide range of body types. When selecting your size, consider the layering of thermal base layers during winter months; the part-elasticated waist provides some leeway, but ensuring a correct fit in the leg length is crucial for the knee pad pockets to sit at the correct anatomical height.
Caring for your product
To maintain the structural integrity and professional appearance of your trousers, it is essential to follow the recommended care protocols. Regular maintenance ensures the fabric remains durable and your custom branding stays intact.
We recommend a machine wash at 40°C. Washing at this temperature is sufficient to remove standard site dirt without causing thermal shock to the polyester fibres, which can lead to premature wear or loss of shape.
Under no circumstances should bleach be used. Bleaching agents attack the fibres of the fabric, leading to a significant reduction in the trousers' tensile strength and causing your embroidered or printed logos to degrade and lose their colour.
When drying, use a low-heat tumble dry setting or air dry. Excessive heat in the dryer can cause the polycotton blend to shrink, particularly around the waistband and hems. Similarly, if ironing is necessary, use a low heat setting to avoid scorching the synthetic fibres or damaging the adhesive used in printed logos.
These trousers are suitable for professional dry cleaning if they become contaminated with oils or greases that domestic detergents cannot effectively lift.
