Product Overview
The Scruffs Trade stretch belt is a technical accessory designed for professionals who require a reliable and flexible solution for securing their workwear. Built to withstand the daily rigours of site life, this belt prioritises freedom of movement without compromising on support. Its hard-wearing construction and understated aesthetic make it a versatile addition to any uniform, providing a secure fit that adjusts to the wearer's body throughout the working day.
Key Features
Hard-wearing stretch fabric: The belt is engineered with a high-performance elasticated weave that allows it to move with you, preventing the restriction often found in traditional leather or webbed belts.
Anti-scratch buckle: Designed with a smooth finish to prevent accidental damage to surfaces, making it the perfect choice for joiners, fitters, and decorators working in finished environments.
Easy adjustment: The simple, secure fastening system allows for a bespoke fit, ensuring trousers remain comfortably in place regardless of the load carried in your pockets.
Sedex Certified: This accreditation ensures that the product has been manufactured under ethically and socially responsible conditions.
Design & Performance
Constructed from a robust blend of 60% polypropylene, 28% elastodiene, and 12% polyester, this belt offers an exceptional balance of durability and elasticity. The inclusion of elastodiene provides significant stretch, allowing the belt to expand and contract as you crouch, bend, or climb. The polypropylene and polyester components provide the structural strength needed to ensure the belt does not lose its shape over time. This combination of materials creates a lightweight yet substantial accessory that performs consistently in demanding trade environments.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
To enhance your professional appearance, the Scruffs Trade stretch belt can be customised by our expert team. Embroidery is an excellent choice for those wanting to add a discreet yet permanent company logo or name, offering a high-quality finish that withstands the elements. For larger or more vibrant designs, our print services provide a bold visual impact. All customisation is performed in-house at our Telford facility, where we have been perfecting our craft since 1976 to ensure every item meets our exacting standards.
Use Cases
This belt is ideal for tradespeople across all sectors, particularly those in construction, plumbing, and electrical work who find rigid belts uncomfortable during physical labour. Its anti-scratch properties also make it highly suitable for automotive technicians and kitchen fitters who must work in close proximity to delicate surfaces. As a one-size-fits-all item, it is an efficient choice for companies looking to provide a standard accessory for their entire team.

Practical Advice
The one-size design of this belt makes it incredibly versatile for all body types. When fitting the belt, ensure it is tensioned sufficiently to support the weight of your trousers and any tools you may carry, but avoid over-tightening to maintain the benefit of the stretch fabric. It pairs perfectly with heavy-duty work trousers, providing a streamlined profile that won't dig in while you work.
Caring for your product
To maintain the performance and longevity of your Scruffs Trade stretch belt, it is important to follow the recommended care instructions carefully. Proper maintenance ensures the technical fibres do not lose their elasticity and the buckle remains in good working order.
This belt should be hand washed only. Machine washing is not recommended as the mechanical action can damage the internal elastic fibres and cause the metal buckle to catch on the drum, which could damage both the belt and your washing machine. After hand washing with a mild detergent, allow the belt to air dry naturally. Avoid high heat sources or tumble drying, as excessive heat will degrade the elastodiene, leading to a loss of stretch and structural integrity.
