Product Overview
The ProRTX High Visibility Cargo Trousers are a meticulously engineered solution for professionals requiring a balance of safety compliance and functional storage. These medium-weight trousers are constructed from a durable polycotton twill, designed to withstand the rigours of a busy working day while ensuring the wearer remains visible and protected. The addition of a water-repellent finish makes them a practical choice for those working in unpredictable outdoor environments, ensuring moisture beads off the surface rather than saturating the fabric.
Key Features
- Certified Safety: These trousers meet EN ISO 20471:2013+A1:2016 Class 1 standards for the high-visibility yellow and orange versions, ensuring you meet site safety requirements.
- Railway Compliance: The orange variant is specifically tested to RIS-3279-TOM ISSUE 1:2016, making it suitable for use within the UK rail industry.
- Enhanced Utility: Featuring two side seam pockets, two cargo pockets, and a rear pocket with a secure tear-and-release fastening, you have ample space for tools and personal items.
- Internal Knee Pad Pockets: Integrated pockets allow for the insertion of knee pads, providing essential joint protection for those frequently working at floor level.
- Reflective Detailing: Two bands of high-quality reflective tape are positioned around each leg to maximise visibility in low-light conditions.
Design & Performance
Constructed from a robust blend of 80% polyester and 20% cotton twill, these trousers offer the high-tensile strength of synthetic fibres alongside the comfort of natural cotton. The medium-weight fabric is substantial enough to provide a protective barrier against abrasions without being overly restrictive. Performance is further enhanced by a side-elasticated waistband with seven belt loops, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit that moves with the wearer, whether climbing ladders or operating machinery.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The ProRTX Cargo Trousers are an excellent canvas for corporate branding, supporting both print and embroidery. Embroidery is particularly recommended for company logos or staff names, as the dense twill fabric supports a high-quality, raised stitch finish that remains durable through repeated laundering. For larger, more vibrant designs, our high-quality printing process ensures your branding is clear and impactful.
All customisation is handled in-house at our Telford facility by a specialist team that has been perfecting workwear branding since 1976. This ensures that your professional appearance is maintained to the highest standard.
Use Cases
These trousers are primarily designed for those in construction, logistics, and roadside maintenance where high visibility is a mandatory safety requirement. The navy option is an excellent choice for supervisors or staff in lower-risk areas who require the same utility and durability without the certified fluorescent properties. The range of sizes from Small to 5XL ensures a consistent uniform across your entire workforce.

Practical Advice
The side-elasticated waistband is designed to provide extra flexibility; if you find yourself between sizes, the elastication often allows for a more comfortable fit without needing to size up. For those working in colder environments, the generous cut allows for thermal base layers to be worn underneath without restricting movement.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-visibility effectiveness and the water-repellent finish, we recommend a machine wash at 40°C. Regular washing at this temperature ensures that site dirt and oils are removed before they can degrade the fluorescent pigments.
Do not use bleach when cleaning this garment. Bleach will cause the high-visibility dyes to fade rapidly and can damage the integrity of the reflective tape, potentially voiding the safety certification.
We advise against tumble drying; instead, allow the trousers to air dry. This prevents heat-related shrinkage and protects the adhesive used on the reflective bands. If required, a medium iron can be used to maintain a professional appearance, but please avoid ironing directly over the reflective tape as high heat can melt the material.
Do not dry clean this product, as the chemicals used in the process can strip away the water-repellent coating and dull the visibility of the fabric.
