Product Overview
The Premier PR024 Utility 2.0 Vest Apron represents a significant departure from traditional catering attire. This over-the-head garment merges the functionality of a classic apron with the structured aesthetic of a utility vest, providing a contemporary, street-ready look for modern service environments. Constructed from a robust heavyweight canvas, it is engineered to withstand the rigours of busy hospitality settings while maintaining a professional appearance that resonates with high-end baristas, barbers, and street food vendors.
Key Features
- Heavyweight Canvas Fabric: The substantial material provides a durable barrier against spills and abrasions, ensuring the garment survives the daily grind of a professional kitchen or shop floor.
- Seatbelt-Style Straps: These wide, sturdy straps are fitted with clip-fastening buckles, offering a secure fit that distributes weight evenly across the shoulders for all-day comfort.
- Multi-Pocket Configuration: Featuring a press-stud chest pocket for secure storage and two large pockets designed specifically to accommodate tablets, making it an ideal choice for businesses using digital ordering systems.
- Trimmed Edge Finish: The clean, bound edges prevent fraying and provide a sharp, high-quality finish that reinforces the garment's longevity.
- Certified Recycled Materials: By incorporating certified recycled polyester, this apron supports your business's sustainability goals without compromising on performance or durability.
Design & Performance
The design philosophy behind the Utility 2.0 focuses on the intersection of durability and modern aesthetics. The fabric composition of 60% cotton and 40% recycled polyester creates a heavyweight canvas that feels substantial to the touch yet remains breathable enough for high-temperature environments. Unlike standard aprons that rely on simple ties, the side-fastening clip system ensures the vest remains securely in place even during rapid movement. The unisex design and over-the-head entry provide full-body coverage, protecting your staff's primary clothing from stains and wear.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This heavyweight canvas is an excellent substrate for both print and embroidery. For a formal, high-end finish, we recommend embroidery for company logos and staff names; the dense weave of the canvas supports complex stitching without pulling or distortion. If your brand requires a larger, more graphic impact, the flat surfaces of the tablet pockets are perfectly suited to high-definition printing. Every customisation project is handled by our expert in-house team in Telford, drawing on nearly half a century of experience since our founding in 1976.
Use Cases
This garment is specifically designed for professionals who require more than just basic protection. It is highly recommended for artisan baristas, craft barbers, and street food vendors who need their tools within reach. The modern, industrial aesthetic also makes it a superb choice for front-of-house staff in contemporary restaurants or craft breweries looking to project a unified, professional image.

Practical Advice
The Utility 2.0 is available in two generous unisex sizes. For those wearing it over a simple t-shirt, the S/M usually suffices for chest sizes up to 36 inches. If your staff will be layering it over thicker sweatshirts or hoodies in colder environments, we recommend sizing up to the L/XL to ensure the clip fastenings remain comfortable throughout the shift.
Caring for your product
To maintain the structural integrity and professional appearance of your vest apron, it is essential to follow the recommended care protocols. Maintaining the fabric's performance starts with proper thermal management during the wash cycle.
This garment is designed for high-temperature hygiene and can be safely machine washed at 60°C, or even industrial washed up to 85°C. This ensures the removal of stubborn grease and food oils that standard domestic cycles might miss. However, you must avoid the use of bleach, as this will degrade the cotton fibres and cause premature fading of the black canvas.
Do not tumble dry this product. High heat from a dryer can cause the heavyweight canvas to shrink or warp, particularly around the strap attachment points. Instead, allow the garment to air dry naturally. Once dry, a medium iron can be used to restore the sharp lines of the vest, ensuring your team always looks well-presented. Professional dry cleaning is not recommended, as the chemicals involved can interfere with the finish of the recycled polyester components.
