Product Overview

The Westford Mill Fairtrade Cotton Adult Craft Apron is a substantial piece of protective workwear designed for those who value both ethical sourcing and functional durability. This full bib apron is constructed from high-quality cotton drill, providing a robust barrier for professionals working in kitchens, studios, or retail environments. By choosing a Fairtrade-certified garment, your business demonstrates a commitment to global social responsibility without compromising on the physical requirements of a demanding workplace.

Key Features
  • Fairtrade Certification: This ensures that the cotton used in the garment was produced under fair working conditions, allowing your brand to align with ethical procurement standards.
  • Deep Front Pocket: A generously sized central pocket provides essential storage for utensils, tools, or mobile devices, keeping them accessible while you work.
  • Adjustable Sliding Buckle: The cotton herringbone neck tie features a sliding buckle, allowing for a precise and comfortable fit that accommodates different heights.
  • Extended Waist Ties: With 100cm cotton herringbone ties, this apron can be securely fastened at the back or wrapped around the front for a more tailored fit.
  • Full Bib Coverage: The 70 x 93cm dimensions ensure maximum protection for the wearer’s clothing against spills, splashes, and debris.

Design & Performance

Crafted from 100% cotton drill, this apron is built to withstand the rigours of daily professional use. Cotton drill is known for its diagonal weave, which creates a sturdy, heavy-weight fabric that is naturally resistant to wear and tear. Unlike lighter alternatives, this substantial fabric feels premium to the touch and maintains its structure over time, even with frequent laundering.

The use of cotton herringbone for the ties is a deliberate choice for performance; the weave provides a slight grip that prevents knots from slipping, ensuring the apron stays in place during active movement. The tagless design further enhances comfort, removing any irritation at the neck during long shifts.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This apron offers exceptional potential for branding, thanks to its flat, durable surface. For a refined professional appearance, we recommend embroidery. Our Telford-based team uses high-definition machinery to stitch logos and names, creating a three-dimensional finish that is incredibly durable and lends an established aesthetic to your uniform.

For larger, high-impact designs, such as promotional graphics or bold brand marks, screen printing or heat transfer is an excellent choice. With a significant print area on both the top bib and the lower section, this apron provides ample space to ensure your branding is visible even from a distance. All customisation is handled in-house by our experts, who have been perfecting these techniques since 1976.

Use Cases

This apron is an ideal choice for the hospitality sector, specifically for front-of-house staff, baristas, and kitchen personnel who require a clean, professional look. It is equally suited for craftspeople, florists, and workshop educators where protection from materials and a functional pocket are daily necessities. The unisex design ensures it is a versatile addition to any staff uniform programme.

Practical Advice

While this is a one-size-fits-all garment, the 100cm waist ties make it particularly versatile for different body types. If you are layering this over heavier winter clothing, such as a thick sweatshirt, ensure the neck strap is adjusted before starting work to maintain the correct bib height for optimal protection.

Caring for your product

To maintain the structural integrity and colour of your Fairtrade cotton apron, it is vital to follow the specific care instructions located on the garment label. Proper maintenance ensures the cotton drill remains tough and your branding stays sharp.

Avoid the use of harsh bleaching agents, as these will break down the natural cotton fibres over time, leading to premature thinning of the fabric and potentially damaging any custom print or embroidery. When drying, it is best to avoid high heat settings to prevent the natural cotton from shrinking, which could distort the shape of the bib and the pocket.
