Product Overview
The Premier Essential Coolchecker long sleeve chefs shirt is a technically advanced garment designed to meet the rigorous demands of the modern catering and hospitality industry. This shirt prioritises both environmental responsibility and wearer comfort, being constructed from 100% certified recycled polyester. The integration of Premier’s specialised Coolchecker fabric ensures that moisture is efficiently pulled away from the skin, allowing for rapid evaporation and maintaining a professional appearance throughout the longest shifts.
Key Features
- Moisture-wicking Coolchecker fabric: This breathable material actively manages perspiration, ensuring the wearer remains dry and comfortable in high-temperature kitchen environments.
- Vented mesh back panel: Strategically placed to provide constant airflow, this panel facilitates temperature regulation where it is needed most.
- Integrated apron tab: A press-stud button located at the reverse of the neckband securely holds an apron in place, preventing shifting and increasing comfort.
- Professional collar and placket: The mandarin collar and covered placket with concealed press-studs provide a clean, minimalist aesthetic suitable for open-plan kitchens.
- Practical sleeve storage: A dedicated pen pocket on the upper left sleeve ensures essential tools are always within reach.
- Side hem slits: These allow for a greater range of movement and a more flattering, flexible silhouette when working in confined spaces.
Design & Performance
Engineered for endurance, the fabric used in this chefs shirt is a lightweight polyester that does not compromise on durability. The use of recycled materials reflects a commitment to sustainability without sacrificing the performance characteristics required in a commercial kitchen. The ribbed-knit cuffs provide a secure fit at the wrist, preventing sleeves from interfering with delicate food preparation tasks. The overall design focuses on a neat finish, ensuring that staff maintain a sharp, authoritative presence in front of colleagues and customers alike.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This garment is highly adaptable for branding, supporting both print and embroidery applications. For a sophisticated and permanent professional appearance, we recommend embroidery for company logos or staff names on the chest. If your branding requires large, high-impact graphics, our printing processes offer vibrant results that stand out. All customisation is performed by our expert in-house team at our Telford facility, drawing on nearly half a century of experience to ensure your brand is represented with precision.
Use Cases
While designed primarily for chefs, this shirt is an excellent choice for any member of a catering or hospitality team. Its moisture-management properties make it ideal for kitchen staff working near grills or ovens, while its refined design is perfectly suited for front-of-house staff or baristas who require a practical yet smart uniform. It is particularly effective for large-scale catering operations where uniform consistency and staff comfort are paramount.
Why MyWorkwear
Established in 1976, MyWorkwear has spent decades refining the art of professional clothing. Operating from our base in Telford, we combine traditional expertise with modern technology to deliver garments that perform under pressure. Our long history in the industry means we understand the specific needs of tradespeople and business owners, ensuring that every product we supply meets our stringent standards for quality and customisation.
Practical Advice
The shirt is available in an inclusive size range from XS to 4XL. For the best fit, we recommend measuring across the fullest part of the chest to align with our sizing guide, which ranges from a 33-inch chest in XS to a 48-inch chest in 4XL. Given the moisture-wicking nature of the fabric, it performs best when worn as a single layer or over a lightweight technical base layer.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-performance moisture-wicking properties and the structural integrity of the recycled polyester, it is vital to follow the recommended care routine. Regular maintenance ensures the garment continues to look professional and function correctly over time.
We recommend a domestic wash at 60°C. This temperature is effective at removing the oils, fats, and organic stains common in kitchen environments without damaging the technical fibres. Avoid the use of bleach, as this will degrade the polyester strands and cause premature wear to your custom branding.
When drying, use a low tumble dry setting to prevent excessive shrinkage or heat damage. For the best finish, iron on a low heat setting; high temperatures should be avoided to prevent any damage to the synthetic fabric. This garment is not suitable for dry cleaning, as the chemicals used can interfere with the breathable properties of the Coolchecker technology.
