Product Overview
The Stanley denim shirt by Stanley/Stella is a refined interpretation of a timeless workwear staple, designed specifically for the modern professional. Crafted from 100% organic cotton, this medium-weight denim shirt offers a sustainable alternative for businesses that prioritise environmental responsibility without compromising on durability or style. The medium fit provides a clean, tailored silhouette that allows for ease of movement, making it suitable for both active roles and front-of-house environments.
Key Features
100% Organic Cotton: This woven denim is produced without synthetic chemicals, resulting in a fabric that is softer on the skin and significantly more environmentally friendly than conventional cotton.
Button-down Collar: Featuring single-needle topstitching, the collar remains neatly in place, ensuring you maintain a professional appearance throughout the working day.
Forwarded Shoulder Design: This construction detail improves the ergonomic fit of the shirt, reducing tension across the back and shoulders during movement.
No Back Pleat: The removal of the traditional back pleat provides a smooth, flat surface area, which is the ideal canvas for large-scale custom branding.
Indigo Yarn-dyed Finish: The garment-washing process gives each shirt a unique, slightly faded look on the seams, providing a characterful appearance that evolves with wear.
Design & Performance
This shirt is engineered for longevity. The medium-weight organic denim is substantial enough to withstand the daily rigours of a busy workplace while remaining breathable for all-day comfort. The inclusion of a collar stand and a self-fabric inside yoke adds structural reinforcement to the areas that experience the most wear and tear.
Attention to detail is evident in the sleeve construction, which features a single-button placket and double pleats at the cuff seam for a more comfortable fit around the wrist. The rounded cuff corners and two-button adjustment allow for versatility in how the shirt is worn, whether buttoned for formal meetings or rolled up for more practical tasks.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The Stanley denim shirt is an exceptional choice for customisation. Due to its flat back construction, it is particularly well-suited for large-scale print designs. Printing allows for bold, vibrant logos that stand out against the indigo backdrop, making it perfect for promotional wear or modern team branding.
For those seeking a more prestigious and traditional look, embroidery is highly recommended. The density of the woven organic denim provides a stable foundation for intricate needlework, ensuring your logo remains sharp and professional through repeated laundering. Our Telford-based team has been perfecting these techniques since 1976, ensuring every garment we process meets our exacting standards.
Use Cases
This garment is ideal for professionals in the creative industries, hospitality, and retail sectors who require a uniform that is both durable and stylish. It is also a superior choice for eco-conscious organisations looking to align their corporate workwear with sustainable values. Its versatile design means it can be worn as a standalone shirt or layered over a t-shirt for a more casual, contemporary look.

Practical Advice
The Stanley shirt is designed with a medium fit. If you prefer a more relaxed feel or intend to layer it over other garments, you may wish to consider selecting a size larger than your usual measurement. To ensure the best results for customisation, our team recommends keeping embroidery designs away from the heavy seams to ensure a flat, crisp finish.
Caring for your product
To preserve the integrity of the organic cotton and the vibrancy of the indigo dye, we recommend a machine wash at 30°C. Higher temperatures can lead to fabric shrinkage and may cause the indigo colour to fade prematurely.
Do not use bleach on this garment. Harsh chemical agents will destroy the natural indigo pigments and weaken the organic fibres, significantly reducing the lifespan of the shirt.
This product should not be tumble dried. Natural air drying is required to prevent the fabric from becoming stiff and to maintain the original shape and fit of the garment.
When ironing, use a low temperature setting and always iron the garment inside out. You must avoid ironing directly over any printed designs, as the heat will damage the branding. Washing and ironing inside out also helps to protect the surface of the denim from abrasion. Please be aware that as an indigo-dyed product, some colour bleed may occur; therefore, always wash with similar colours to avoid staining other items.
