Product Overview
The WX3 Modaflame Knit FR Short Sleeve T-Shirt is a technical safety garment engineered for professionals operating in environments where heat and flame protection are paramount. As part of the Flame Resistant Multi-Norm range, this t-shirt provides a critical layer of defence without compromising on the comfort required for a demanding workday. The design is practical and streamlined, featuring a black finish that maintains a professional appearance even in taxing industrial settings.
Key Features
- Heat applied tape on the shoulders enhances the visibility of the wearer in low-light conditions, improving safety protocols without the stiffness of traditional sewn-on reflective strips.
- The ribbed collar and cuffs provide a secure and comfortable fit, ensuring the garment retains its structure and professional silhouette through repeated wear.
- Inherent flame resistance is built into the fabric fibres, meaning the protective qualities will not wash out or diminish over time.
Design & Performance
The performance of this t-shirt is rooted in its Modaflame Knit construction, which consists of 60% Modacrylic, 39% Cotton, and 1% Carbon Fibre. This blend is specifically chosen for its multi-hazard protection. The modacrylic provides the primary flame resistance, while the cotton ensures the fabric remains breathable and soft against the skin. The addition of carbon fibre provides essential anti-static properties, which is a vital requirement for many high-risk work environments. The lightweight fabric ensures the wearer remains cool, making it a versatile choice for indoor work or as a high-performance base layer.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This garment is suitable for both print and embroidery customisation, allowing you to present a unified and professional company image. Embroidery is highly recommended for adding company logos or individual names to the chest; it provides a durable, high-quality finish that complements the technical nature of the garment. For larger branding requirements on the back, printing offers a bold and clear result.
At MyWorkwear, our Telford-based team has been providing expert customisation services since 1976. We handle all embroidery and printing in-house to ensure that your branding is applied with the highest level of care, maintaining the integrity of the flame-resistant materials.
Use Cases
This t-shirt is designed for workers in the petrochemical, electrical, and manufacturing sectors who require protection against heat, flame, and static build-up. It is equally effective as a primary outer layer in warmer conditions or as a foundational piece within a layered flame-resistant uniform system.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, consider that a tailored fit ensures the anti-static carbon fibres maintain better contact with the body for optimal performance. This lightweight t-shirt is designed to be low-bulk, making it an excellent choice for layering under flame-resistant jackets or sweatshirts without restricting movement.
Caring for your product
Maintaining the technical integrity of flame-resistant clothing requires adherence to specific care protocols. Proper laundering ensures the garment remains a reliable piece of safety equipment and that your custom branding stays vibrant.
We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. High temperatures can damage the modacrylic fibres and potentially degrade the heat-applied visibility tape. To protect the fabric's structure, avoid the use of bleach, as harsh chemicals can weaken the fibres and compromise the garment's protective properties.
This t-shirt should be line dried rather than placed in a tumble dryer. Tumble drying can lead to shrinkage and excessive wear on the technical knit. If ironing is necessary, use a maximum temperature of 110°C to prevent scorching. Finally, do not dry clean this garment, as the solvents used in the process are incompatible with the Modaflame fabric composition.
