Product Overview
The Modaflame Knit HVO FR Long Sleeve Polo Shirt is a sophisticated piece of protective equipment designed for professionals working in high-risk environments. This garment is engineered to provide multi-norm protection without the bulk often associated with flame-resistant workwear. By utilising a lightweight fabric, it ensures that safety does not come at the expense of comfort, offering a breathable solution for demanding shifts where moisture management is essential to maintaining focus and performance.
Key Features
- Inherently Flame Resistant: The fabric blend ensures protection is built into the fibres, meaning the safety properties will not wash out over time.
- Breathable Moisture Management: The unique combination of fibres allows heat and perspiration to escape, keeping the wearer cool and dry in high-pressure situations.
- Contrast Rib Cuffs: These provide a secure and comfortable fit at the wrists, preventing sleeves from riding up and ensuring a polished appearance throughout the day.
- High Visibility Design: The bright orange colour is specifically chosen for environments where being seen is as critical as being protected.
Design & Performance
At the heart of this polo shirt is the Modaflame Knit HVO fabric, a technical blend consisting of 45% Modacrylic, 25% Polyester, 23% Cotton, 6% Aramid, and 1% Carbon Fibre. This complex composition is meticulously balanced; the Aramid and Modacrylic provide the fundamental flame resistance, while the Carbon Fibre offers essential anti-static properties. The addition of cotton ensures a soft feel against the skin, making this lightweight garment suitable for long-term wear in varied climates.
The design is focused on durability and functionality. The navy contrast elements are not merely aesthetic; they are strategically placed to mask dirt in high-contact areas, maintaining a professional look even during intensive manual tasks. The knit construction provides a degree of natural stretch, allowing for a full range of motion without straining the seams.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Ensuring your team looks cohesive while remaining protected is straightforward with our customisation services. This Modaflame fabric is suitable for both print and embroidery. For a formal and enduring finish, we recommend embroidery for company logos and staff names, which provides a three-dimensional, high-quality appearance. If your branding requires larger, more vibrant graphics, our high-quality printing techniques are an excellent alternative.
Our in-house production team, based in Telford, has been perfecting these processes since 1976. We understand the technical requirements of applying branding to flame-resistant garments, ensuring that your corporate identity is represented without compromising the protective integrity of the polo shirt.
Use Cases
This polo shirt is an ideal choice for workers in the utilities, petrochemical, and power generation industries. Its multi-norm status makes it versatile for environments where there is a risk of heat, flame, or static discharge. Because of its lightweight and breathable nature, it is particularly well-suited for indoor technical work or as a primary layer during the warmer months.

Practical Advice
This garment features a regular fit. When selecting your size, consider whether it will be worn as a base layer or over a t-shirt. For those working in colder conditions, it layers exceptionally well under flame-resistant jackets or sweatshirts without restricting movement.
Caring for your product
To ensure this garment continues to provide the necessary protection and maintains its professional appearance, proper maintenance is vital. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. High temperatures can damage the technical fibres and may cause the garment to lose its shape over time.
Do not use bleach under any circumstances. Bleaching agents will cause significant degradation of the protective fibres, potentially compromising the flame-resistant properties of the garment. To maintain the structural integrity of the knit, the shirt should not be tumble dried. Instead, it should be line dried to prevent shrinkage and excessive wear from mechanical heat.
If ironing is required to maintain a crisp look, use a cool setting with a maximum temperature of 110°C. Excessive heat from an iron can scorch the synthetic components of the fabric blend. Finally, do not dry clean this garment, as the chemicals used in the process can interfere with the technical performance of the Modaflame fibres.
