Product Overview

The WX2 Hi-Vis 2-in-1 Pilot Jacket is a versatile and robust garment engineered to meet the demands of professionals working in varied and challenging environments. Constructed from high-performance Kingsmill Polycotton fabric, this jacket offers a superior balance of durability and comfort. Its primary advantage lies in its 2-in-1 design, which features a removable fleece lining. This allows the wearer to adapt quickly to changing temperatures, transitioning from a warm, insulated winter jacket to a lighter protective layer when the weather improves. The high-visibility orange and black colour scheme ensures maximum visibility in low-light conditions, making it an essential piece of equipment for site safety.

Key Features

  • Versatile 2-in-1 Design: The removable fleece lining provides exceptional warmth during winter months while allowing for easy adaptation to milder conditions by simply detaching the inner layer.
  • High-Performance Shell: Made from Kingsmill Polycotton, the outer fabric combines the breathability of cotton with the long-lasting durability of polyester, ensuring the jacket stands up to daily wear and tear.
  • Integrated Sleeve Wadding: The sleeves are lined with wadding to provide additional insulation without restricting arm movement, ensuring you stay warm while maintaining full range of motion.
  • Sustainable Lining: The removable lining is crafted from GRS Recycled Polyester, offering a more environmentally conscious choice without compromising on thermal performance.
  • Strategic Colour Blocking: The orange and black design not only meets high-visibility requirements but also incorporates dark panels in high-wear areas to mask dirt and maintain a professional appearance.

Design & Performance

The engineering behind the WX2 Pilot Jacket focuses on functional performance. The shell fabric consists of a 55% Cotton and 45% Polyester blend, which provides a soft touch against the skin while the polyester ensures the jacket retains its shape and resists abrasion. Inside, the 100% Polyester Taffeta lining allows the jacket to slide easily over other layers, preventing snagging. The removable fleece is of a substantial weight, designed to trap air and provide a thermal barrier against the cold. The inclusion of polyester wadding in the sleeves further enhances its thermal properties, making it a well-engineered solution for outdoor work in the UK climate.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This jacket is an excellent candidate for both print and embroidery, allowing you to align your team's appearance with your brand identity. Embroidery is highly recommended for company logos and staff names, as it provides a three-dimensional, high-quality finish that withstands industrial laundering. For larger, more prominent graphics on the back of the jacket, our high-quality printing process ensures bold visibility. Every customisation is handled by our expert in-house team in Telford, where we have been perfecting workwear branding since 1976.

Use Cases

Given its high-visibility properties and adaptable insulation, this jacket is ideally suited for professionals in construction, civil engineering, and logistics. It is particularly effective for those who transition frequently between outdoor sites and vehicle cabs, where the removable lining allows for immediate temperature regulation. It is also a preferred choice for roadside recovery and security personnel who require visibility and protection from the elements during long shifts.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, consider whether you intend to wear the jacket primarily with the fleece lining attached. If you plan on wearing heavy base layers or sweatshirts underneath, you may find the 2-in-1 design provides a snugger fit. The Pilot Jacket cut is designed to sit at the waist, providing ease of movement when sitting or climbing, making it particularly useful for drivers and machinery operators.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-visibility properties and technical integrity of your jacket, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum of 40°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures can damage the reflective elements and the polycotton fibres over time.

Do not use bleach, as this will degrade the fabric strength and significantly fade the high-visibility orange colour. The garment should be drip line dried rather than tumble dried; excessive heat from a dryer can warp the reflective tape and cause the fabric to shrink.

Ironing should be avoided entirely to prevent melting the polyester components or damaging the internal linings. Finally, please note that the garment is rated for a maximum of 25 washes to ensure it continues to meet safety standards for visibility.
