Product Overview
The C704 Work Vest is a practical solution for professionals operating in warmer climates who require high levels of utility without the heat retention of a full jacket. Engineered with a focus on functional storage and temperature regulation, this garment balances the ruggedness of Kingsmill polycotton fabric with the breathability of integrated mesh panels. Whether you are managing a site or navigating a busy workshop, this vest provides the necessary carriage for tools and personal items while ensuring you remain comfortable throughout the working day.
Key Features
- A versatile multi-pocket system allows for the organised storage of essential tools and equipment, reducing the time spent searching for items.
- Integrated MeshAir contrast panels facilitate significant airflow, which is critical for maintaining a stable body temperature in high-heat environments.
- Constructed from Kingsmill Standard fabric, a blend of polyester and cotton that offers superior strength and long-term durability against the rigours of daily wear.
- The black colourway provides a professional and neutral base that effectively masks minor debris and maintains a clean appearance.
Design & Performance
The primary structure of this vest utilises Kingsmill Standard fabric, a reliable 65% polyester and 35% cotton blend. This composition is favoured in the industry for its resilience and ability to withstand repeated use in demanding conditions. While the fabric provides a sturdy foundation, the addition of 100% polyester mesh inserts transforms the garment's performance. These inserts allow heat to escape and air to circulate, preventing the stifling sensation often associated with utility vests.
The garment is balanced to be sturdy yet lightweight, ensuring it does not become cumbersome even when the pockets are fully utilised. The design prioritises freedom of movement, making it an ideal choice for active roles that involve frequent reaching, bending, or lifting.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This work vest is an excellent candidate for both print and embroidery, allowing you to tailor it to your company’s branding requirements. For a more traditional and durable finish, we recommend embroidery for company logos and individual names. The tight weave of the Kingsmill fabric provides a stable base for high-quality stitching, ensuring your brand identity remains crisp and professional.
If you require larger, more prominent graphics on the back of the vest, print is the ideal method. This approach ensures that your branding is bold and easily readable from a distance. Our experienced in-house team in Telford, who have been perfecting these techniques since 1976, will oversee every aspect of the customisation to ensure a superior finish.
Use Cases
This vest is specifically designed for tradespeople, engineers, and warehouse staff working in hot climates or indoor environments with limited ventilation. It is equally suited for logistics professionals who need quick access to pens, scanners, and documents without the bulk of a jacket. Its professional appearance also makes it suitable for site managers who need to carry essential equipment while maintaining a smart aesthetic.

Practical Advice
For the best fit, we recommend wearing this vest over a breathable base layer such as a moisture-wicking t-shirt or polo shirt. This will further enhance the cooling effects of the mesh panels. If you intend to wear the vest over heavier garments like a sweatshirt, you may wish to consider your sizing requirements to ensure the pockets remain easily accessible.
Caring for your product
To maintain the structural integrity and professional appearance of this vest, follow these care guidelines carefully. Neglecting these instructions can lead to premature fabric degradation or damage to your custom branding.
We recommend a maximum wash temperature of 60°C using a normal process. Washing at higher temperatures or using aggressive cycles can weaken the polycotton fibres and cause the vest to lose its shape over time.
Do not use bleach when cleaning this garment. Bleach is a harsh chemical that will strip the colour from the fabric and compromise the strength of the polyester-cotton blend, leading to thinning and potential tearing.
For drying, use a low temperature setting on your tumble dryer. High heat can cause the mesh panels to shrink at a different rate than the main body fabric, resulting in distortion. If ironing is required, use a maximum temperature of 110°C; excessive heat can damage the polyester content. Professional dry cleaning using Tetrachloroethene is also permitted for removing stubborn industrial stains.
