Product Overview
The Women's Baselayer Top L/S is a fundamental piece of technical apparel designed for those who understand that comfort starts at the skin. As part of the All Weather Protection range, this long-sleeved garment acts as the primary layer in a professional clothing system, focusing on temperature regulation and moisture control. It is designed to be unobtrusive, providing a smooth, reliable foundation that allows you to focus on the task at hand rather than your attire.
Crafted with a focus on ergonomics and textile performance, this baselayer addresses the specific needs of the active professional, ensuring that perspiration is managed effectively to prevent the post-exertion chill often experienced in outdoor environments.
Key Features
- Advanced Moisture Management: The 100% wicking polyester fabric is specifically engineered to transport moisture away from the skin, ensuring you stay dry and comfortable throughout your shift.
- Comfort-Focused Seam Placement: The flat-lock seams are strategically positioned away from the shoulders to eliminate potential pressure points, which is a significant advantage when wearing heavy outer jackets or carrying equipment.
- Irritation-Free Construction: The use of flat-lock stitching throughout the garment reduces bulk and prevents the chafing often associated with traditional seams during repetitive movement.
- Full Arm Coverage: The long-sleeve design provides consistent thermal protection across the entire upper body, making it an ideal choice for year-round work in the UK's unpredictable climate.
Design & Performance
This baselayer is manufactured from a lightweight fabric that offers a smooth, silk-like feel against the skin. The 100% wicking polyester is not just about comfort; it is a high-performance material that excels at moisture management. By spreading perspiration across a larger surface area, the fabric allows for rapid evaporation, keeping your body temperature stable.
The garment's performance is matched by its durability. The synthetic fibres are resilient and maintain their shape even after numerous wash cycles, ensuring that the close fit required for effective wicking is preserved over the long term. It is a discreet but hardworking component of your professional kit.
Why No Customisation?
This product is sold as-is and is not available for customisation. Because a baselayer is designed to sit directly against the skin to facilitate moisture wicking, any internal embroidery would cause significant skin irritation and chafing. Additionally, heat-applied transfers would seal the breathable pores of the technical fabric, rendering its wicking properties ineffective. As these items are worn under other layers, they are best left in their high-performance, unbranded state.
Use Cases
This garment is perfectly suited for tradespeople working in outdoor construction, site surveying, or agricultural sectors where layering is essential. It is also highly effective for staff working in refrigerated environments or large, unheated warehouses where maintaining a consistent core temperature is vital for safety and productivity.

Practical Advice
For maximum effectiveness, this baselayer should be worn as a close-fitting garment. This ensures the technical fabric remains in contact with the skin to capture moisture immediately. In colder conditions, we recommend pairing this with a medium-weight mid-layer, such as a fleece or sweatshirt, to trap warm air while allowing the baselayer to continue its moisture-management work.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-performance moisture-wicking properties of this garment, it is important to follow specific care instructions. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures can damage the fine polyester fibres and cause the garment to lose its shape and effectiveness.
You must not use bleach, as this chemical is too harsh for the synthetic weave and will lead to the premature breakdown of the fabric. Tumble drying should also be avoided; the intense heat of a dryer can melt the technical fibres, permanently ruining the wicking capability and the smooth texture of the top.
Similarly, do not iron or dry clean this item. Exposure to an iron's heat or the aggressive solvents used in dry cleaning will compromise the integrity of the material. By allowing the garment to air dry, you ensure it remains a reliable part of your workwear wardrobe for as long as possible.
