Product Overview
The S549 Ultrasonic Heated Tunnel Bodywarmer represents a significant advancement in personal climate control for the modern professional. Designed to combat the most challenging cold-weather environments, this gilet incorporates active heating technology within a sophisticated, insulated garment. By embedding carbon fibre heated panels directly into the construction, this bodywarmer ensures that warmth is maintained regardless of external conditions, while the water-resistant baffle design provides essential protection against the elements.
Key Features
- Integrated Carbon Fibre Panels: These panels deliver targeted warmth to the core, ensuring you remain comfortable even when stationary in low temperatures.
- Three Heat Settings: Controlled by a simple chest button, these settings allow you to precisely manage your thermal comfort based on the intensity of your work.
- Rechargeable Battery: Provides between 3 and 10 hours of consistent heat, ensuring a full day's performance on a single charge.
- Heat-Sealed Baffle Fabric: This innovative construction method eliminates traditional stitching, significantly increasing the garment's water resistance and preventing heat from escaping.
- InsulatexPro Filling: A high-performance 100% polyester insulation that provides a superior warmth-to-weight ratio without adding unnecessary bulk.
Design & Performance
Constructed from a 100% Polyester 300T Microfibre shell with an anti-static finish, the S549 is engineered for both durability and comfort. The shell fabric is substantial enough to withstand the rigours of a working day while remaining lightweight and flexible. The interior is lined with smooth polyester, allowing the garment to slide easily over other layers without snagging. The use of InsulatexPro filling ensures that even when the heating elements are not active, the gilet remains a highly effective thermal barrier.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Despite the high-tech heating elements, this bodywarmer is perfectly suited for professional branding. For a sophisticated and permanent appearance, embroidery is recommended for company logos or staff names on the chest area. If you require larger, high-impact designs on the back, our precision printing methods provide a crisp, bold finish.
At MyWorkwear, our expert team in Telford has been handling customisation in-house since 1976. We ensure that your branding is applied with technical precision, maintaining the integrity of the garment's heat-sealed baffles and internal components.
Use Cases
This garment is an essential equipment choice for site managers, surveyors, and tradespeople who move between active work and periods of standing in cold conditions. It is equally effective for warehouse staff working in refrigerated environments or outdoor logistics personnel who require maximum core warmth without the restriction of a full jacket.
Why MyWorkwear
With a heritage dating back to 1976, MyWorkwear has decades of experience in selecting and customising technical garments. Based in Telford, we pride ourselves on our technical expertise and our commitment to providing durable, professional clothing that works as hard as you do.
Practical Advice
The S549 is designed to fit comfortably over base layers or sweatshirts. For maximum efficiency of the heated panels, we recommend wearing the gilet over a relatively thin, moisture-wicking layer to allow the heat to transfer effectively to your body. When choosing your size, consider what you will typically wear underneath to ensure a professional fit.
Caring for your product
To maintain the performance of the electronic components and the integrity of the insulation, this garment requires specific care. Maintaining the technical shell is vital for ensuring long-term water resistance and panel efficiency.
A mild domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 30°C is recommended. Using higher temperatures may damage the carbon fibre panels and the microfibre shell. Always ensure the battery is removed before washing.
Do not use bleach, as these harsh chemicals will degrade the polyester fibres and potentially compromise the anti-static finish. Similarly, avoid dry cleaning, which can involve solvents that are too aggressive for the internal heating circuits.
This garment should be line dried only. Do not tumble dry, as the mechanical action and high heat can cause the internal wiring to fail and may damage the InsulatexPro filling. Finally, do not iron the bodywarmer, as the heat from an iron will melt the microfibre shell and damage the internal electronics.
