Product Overview

The Steel Textile Trainer S1P FO SR represents a shift in modern safety footwear, successfully bridging the gap between high-performance protection and the aesthetic of contemporary athletic footwear. This trainer is designed for professionals who require the safety of a steel toecap but prefer the lightweight, breathable nature of a textile shoe. The upper is constructed from an ultra-modern knitted fabric, providing a sleek appearance in Black and Green that is as functional as it is stylish. This is a sturdy, well-constructed shoe designed for those who spend significant time on their feet.

Key Features

  • Knitted Textile Upper: This advanced material choice allows for superior airflow around the foot, reducing heat build-up and ensuring comfort during long shifts.
  • Dual Density Outsole: The PU/PU construction provides a soft, cushioned inner layer for comfort and a hard-wearing outer layer for durability and grip.
  • S1P Safety Protection: Integrated steel protection ensures your feet are shielded against impact and compression, meeting essential safety standards for light industrial use.
  • FO SR Slip Resistance: The outsole is designed to provide reliable traction on various surfaces, reducing the risk of slips in busy work environments.
  • Contrast Laces: Each pair is supplied with a spare set of contrast laces, allowing you to maintain a professional appearance even after the original set has seen heavy use.

Design & Performance

Performance in a safety shoe is measured by its ability to protect without hindering movement. The dual-density PU/PU outsole is specifically engineered to provide all-day comfort, absorbing the impact of walking on hard industrial floors. The knitted upper is not only modern in appearance but also exceptionally lightweight, reducing the fatigue often associated with heavier, traditional safety boots. Despite its textile construction, the trainer is resilient enough for light industrial environments, offering a balance of flexibility and structural integrity.

Why No Customisation?

At MyWorkwear, we prioritise your safety and the technical integrity of your footwear. We do not offer customisation, such as embroidery or heat-applied logos, on these trainers because the process could potentially compromise the safety materials or the structural knit of the upper. Modifying safety footwear can also invalidate the EN ISO 20345 certification, which is something we would never advise for our customers.

Use Cases

This footwear is ideally suited for professionals working in light industrial settings, logistics, and warehousing. Given its stylish design and breathable nature, it is also a popular choice for those in the catering and hospitality sectors, including chefs, bakers, and butchers who require slip resistance and toe protection within a busy kitchen or service environment.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, ensure there is a small amount of room at the front of the shoe, as steel toecaps do not stretch or 'break in' like traditional leather shoes. We recommend pairing these trainers with moisture-wicking work socks to further enhance the breathability provided by the knitted upper.

Caring for your product

Maintaining your safety trainers is essential for ensuring they continue to provide the level of protection you require. Regularly removing dirt and debris from the knitted upper and the outsole will prevent the material from degrading over time and help maintain the slip-resistant properties of the sole.

Do not attempt to machine wash these trainers. Subjecting the internal safety components to high temperatures and mechanical agitation can weaken the bond between the upper and the outsole, potentially leading to premature failure of the shoe. Instead, use a soft brush or damp cloth to clean the exterior.

Avoid using bleach or harsh chemical cleaners on the textile upper, as these can break down the synthetic fibres and cause discolouration. Similarly, do not dry the trainers near direct heat sources like radiators, as excessive heat can cause the PU outsole to become brittle and crack. Allow them to air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area.
