Product Overview
The Regatta Safety Footwear Sandstone SB safety trainers represent a calculated balance between athletic agility and industrial protection. Designed for professionals who require the safety of a steel toecap without the cumbersome weight of a traditional work boot, these trainers offer a sophisticated solution for modern work environments. The aesthetic mimics high-performance activewear, yet beneath the surface, they are built to withstand the rigours of the workplace, featuring a robust water-repellent finish and a reliable, oil-resistant foundation.
Key Features
- EN20345: 2011 - SB Compliance: This standard ensures the footwear has been rigorously tested to provide a minimum level of protection against impact and compression, specifically featuring a safety toecap.
- PU Nubuck and Mesh Upper: The combination of synthetic nubuck and breathable mesh provides a structure that is both durable enough to resist wear and permeable enough to allow airflow, keeping feet comfortable during long shifts.
- Integrated Steel Toecap: A critical safety component that guards the foot against falling objects and heavy impact, essential for hazardous environments.
- Oil-Resistant Rubber Outsole: This specialised sole ensures superior traction on slippery surfaces, significantly reducing the risk of accidental slips and falls in the workplace.
- EVA Midsole and Footbed: The use of die-cut EVA provides lightweight cushioning and support, absorbing shock and reducing fatigue during extended periods of standing or walking.
Design & Performance
The Sandstone trainer is engineered with a focus on ergonomics. The upper is constructed from a blend of polyester and PU, which allows for a flexible fit that moves with the foot, rather than against it. Despite its sturdy safety features, the materials used ensure the footwear remains a lightweight choice for those constantly on the move.
Performance is further enhanced by the SB +DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. This coating encourages water to bead off the surface, protecting the wearer from light showers and damp conditions. The padded ankle protection adds an extra layer of comfort and stability, ensuring the trainer stays secure during physical activity.
Why No Customisation?
We do not offer customisation, such as embroidery or printing, on the Sandstone safety trainers. Modifying safety footwear can potentially compromise the structural integrity of the materials or interfere with the safety standards they are certified to meet. To ensure your protection remains uncompromised, we supply these items in their original, factory-tested condition.
Use Cases
These trainers are ideally suited for warehouse operatives, delivery drivers, and site supervisors who require a professional appearance alongside essential foot protection. They are particularly effective in indoor environments or light outdoor work where agility is as important as safety.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, consider the type of socks you intend to wear. These trainers are designed with a standard fit, but the inclusion of a steel toecap means there is less 'give' in the toe box than a standard trainer. If you are between sizes or prefer a thicker work sock, you may wish to consider the larger option for maximum comfort.
Caring for your product
To maintain the performance and longevity of your safety footwear, it is essential to clean them after use. Allowing mud or debris to sit on the mesh and PU uppers can lead to premature degradation of the materials. We recommend rinsing away dirt with water and using a soft-bristled brush for the uppers, while a harder brush can be used to clear the treads of the oil-resistant soles.
Internal hygiene is equally important; we suggest removing the insoles and allowing the shoes to air out naturally after each shift. This prevents the buildup of moisture and odours within the fabric lining.
When drying your trainers, always allow them to dry at room temperature. Avoid placing them directly against radiators or in direct sunlight, as excessive heat can cause the PU nubuck to crack and may damage the adhesives holding the sole together. Finally, to maintain the water-repellent properties, periodically apply a specialist reproofing spray once the shoes are clean and dry. Never use a washing machine, as the mechanical action and detergents can cause irreparable damage to the safety components.
