Product Overview
The Athens S3S ESD SC LG FO SR from the Run@Work collection represents a significant advancement in safety footwear, designed for professionals who require the agility of a trainer with the robust protection of a work boot. This medium-weight safety shoe is built around a microfibre upper and focuses on reducing the physical strain of long shifts through sophisticated anti-fatigue technology. It provides a professional aesthetic in black and green while meeting stringent EN ISO 20345:2022 safety standards.
Key Features
- SlimCap Toe-Cap: This non-metal cap is only 6.5mm thick, offering 200-joule impact resistance while being lighter and more comfortable than traditional steel toe-caps.
- SmellStop Lining: An integrated antibacterial and anti-odour lining that prevents the growth of microorganisms, ensuring your footwear remains fresh and hygienic.
- Fresh'n Flex Plus Super Light Insert: A high-performance, non-metallic puncture-resistant insert that protects the sole of the foot without adding unnecessary bulk.
- AirTech+Tpu-Skin Sole: A specialized anti-fatigue sole that features a reduced tread thickness to enhance elasticity and provide a lasting cushioning effect throughout the day.
- HIFLAP Technology: Features two independent flaps that facilitate natural movement and provide exceptional stability in various working positions.
Design & Performance
The Athens shoe is engineered for performance, blending a water-resistant microfibre upper with high-tech 3D fabric lining for maximum breathability. The Dry'n Air Comfort Cub3 system works in tandem with the materials to provide superior air circulation, keeping the feet cool during intensive activity. Performance is further enhanced by the ladder grip and a slip-resistant rubber outsole that is also resistant to fuel and oil. Being completely metal-free and vegan-friendly, it meets the requirements of modern, ethical, and high-security workplace environments without compromising on durability.
Why No Customisation?
We do not offer customisation on the Athens safety shoe to ensure the structural integrity and safety certifications remain intact. Any puncture to the microfibre upper through embroidery, or the application of high-heat transfers, could compromise the water resistance and the S3S safety rating of the footwear. We believe your safety should never be secondary to branding.
Use Cases
With its ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) certification, this shoe is ideally suited for electricians and those working in electronics manufacturing. The lightweight, flexible nature of the shoe makes it perfect for warehouse staff, couriers, and tradespeople who spend a significant amount of time on their feet or climbing ladders. The animal-component-free construction also makes it a preferred choice for those requiring vegan-friendly safety gear.

Practical Advice
This shoe is available in specific widths for men and women to ensure an ergonomic fit; we recommend selecting your usual size for the best performance. For those working in demanding industrial environments, the integrated TPU scuff cap will provide additional protection for the front of the shoe, extending its lifespan against high-impact wear.
Caring for your product
Maintaining your safety footwear is vital for both hygiene and the longevity of the technical features. We recommend cleaning the microfibre upper with a damp cloth and a mild soap solution to prevent the build-up of dirt which can degrade the material over time. Do not use harsh chemical cleaners as these can damage the specialized TPU skin and AirTech sole.
Always allow the shoes to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area. Avoid placing them directly against heaters or radiators, as excessive heat can cause the microfibre to stiffen and may impact the adhesive bonds within the sole. Ensuring the shoes are completely dry before the next use will also allow the SmellStop lining to function most effectively.
