Product Overview

The Shell Jacket is a high-performance transitional garment engineered to bridge the gap between demanding professional environments and active leisure. Designed for those who refuse to let the British weather dictate their schedule, this jacket achieves exceptional levels of protection, featuring a waterproof rating of 20,000mm and a breathability rating of 30,000 MVP. This ensures that while external moisture is kept firmly at bay, internal perspiration can escape, keeping the wearer dry and comfortable throughout the working day.

Key Features

  • Armpit ventilation zips provide customisable airflow, allowing you to regulate your body temperature during high-intensity tasks without compromising on weather protection.
  • Wind cuffs act as a secondary barrier against the elements, preventing cold drafts from entering the sleeves and maintaining core warmth.
  • Articulated sleeves are tailored to follow the natural movement of the arm, reducing fabric bulk and ensuring the jacket does not ride up when reaching or lifting.
  • Angled lines and a slim fit profile provide a contemporary, professional appearance that transitions seamlessly from the construction site to the street.

Design & Performance

Constructed using Portwest Extreme fabric, this jacket features a robust 100% polyester outer bonded to a technical PU membrane and a soft tricot inner. This multi-layered approach provides a substantial yet flexible feel, offering durability against the rigours of daily wear while maintaining a lightweight profile. The garment meets the stringent EN 343 Class 4:4 standard, the highest certification for waterproofness and breathability, ensuring you remain protected in the most torrential conditions.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The smooth surface of the polyester shell is an ideal canvas for customisation. For a permanent, professional finish, we recommend embroidery, which is perfect for corporate logos and staff names, providing a texture that stands up well to frequent use. For larger, high-impact graphics that need to be seen from a distance, our high-quality print processes offer vibrant results. Every customisation is handled by our expert in-house team in Telford, drawing on our heritage in workwear manufacturing since 1976.

Use Cases

This jacket is perfectly suited for surveyors, site managers, and outdoor contractors who require a garment that reflects their professional status while providing uncompromising weather protection. Its sleek design also makes it a popular choice for corporate branding in the logistics and transport sectors.

Why MyWorkwear

Practical Advice

As this is a technical shell jacket, it is designed to be worn as an outer layer. For colder winter months, we suggest pairing it with a medium-weight fleece or a thermal base layer. The slim lines of the jacket mean you may wish to consider your layering requirements when selecting your size to ensure a comfortable fit.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance of the waterproof membrane and the integrity of your custom branding, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 30°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures can damage the PU membrane, reducing the jacket's effectiveness in the rain.

Avoid the use of bleach, as harsh chemicals will degrade the polyester fibres and cause colours to fade. When drying, use a low heat setting in the tumble dryer or, preferably, drip line dry to ensure the jacket retains its shape and technical properties.

Do not iron this garment; the high heat of an iron can melt the synthetic fibres and ruin the waterproof bonding. Similarly, dry cleaning should be avoided as the solvents used can strip the protective coatings from the fabric.
