Product Overview
The ES1 Essential Hi-Vis Softshell Jacket (2L) is a technically proficient outer layer designed for professionals who require a balance of visibility, warmth, and weather protection. Utilising a sophisticated two-layer bonded fabric, this jacket provides a streamlined alternative to bulky traditional coats while maintaining the essential performance characteristics needed for demanding outdoor environments.
Key Features
- High-Performance 2-Layer Fabric: The bonding of a windproof outer shell to a soft micro fleece interior ensures that heat is retained close to the body while allowing for a degree of breathability that prevents overheating during physical exertion.
- Weather-Resistant Membrane: Engineered to be both water-resistant and windproof, this jacket serves as a reliable barrier against the elements, keeping the wearer dry and comfortable in light rain and breezy conditions.
- Functional Storage: Equipped with two side pockets, providing secure and convenient space for essential tools or personal items without compromising the jacket's sleek design.
Design & Performance
Constructed from a durable blend of 94% polyester and 6% elastane, the outer shell offers a degree of mechanical stretch that is vital for freedom of movement on-site. This flexibility is essential for tasks that require reaching or lifting, ensuring the garment does not restrict the wearer's natural range of motion. The interior is lined with a 100% polyester micro fleece, which is soft against the skin and highly efficient at trapping air for thermal insulation. This medium-weight construction makes it an exceptionally versatile piece for year-round use in the UK's varied climate.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This softshell jacket is an ideal canvas for corporate branding. For a sophisticated and permanent finish, we recommend embroidery. Our high-density stitching is perfect for company logos and individual names, providing a professional appearance that withstands the rigours of daily wear. Alternatively, for large-scale branding that needs to be seen from a distance, our precision printing services offer a bold and clear result that complements the high-visibility orange fabric.
Every customisation project is handled by our expert in-house team at our Telford facility. MyWorkwear has been a leader in the industry since 1976, and we apply decades of technical expertise to every garment we produce, ensuring your team looks professional and stays safe.
Use Cases
This jacket is specifically designed for workers in sectors such as construction, highway maintenance, and logistics where high visibility is a safety requirement. Its windproof properties make it particularly useful for those working in exposed locations or transitional environments where weather conditions can change rapidly.

Practical Advice
This jacket is designed with a regular fit to allow for easy layering. To maximise thermal efficiency, we recommend wearing it over a moisture-wicking base layer or a standard polo shirt. If you typically wear heavy sweatshirts underneath your work jackets, you may wish to consider this when selecting your size to ensure full mobility.
Caring for your product
To preserve the integrity of the technical fabrics and the high-visibility properties of the jacket, it is essential to follow the specific maintenance instructions. We recommend a very mild wash process at a maximum temperature of 30°C. Using higher temperatures can compromise the bond between the fabric layers and may damage the reflective elements of the garment.
Do not use bleach when cleaning this jacket, as aggressive chemicals will degrade the high-visibility orange dye and weaken the polyester fibres. This garment must be drip line dried only; tumble drying should be avoided at all costs, as the intense heat can cause the synthetic materials to warp or shrink.
Ironing is not permitted, as direct contact with a hot iron will melt the technical outer shell and flatten the insulating micro fleece. Similarly, do not dry clean this garment, as the solvents used can strip away the water-resistant coating. Please be aware that this jacket has a maximum limit of 50 washes; once this limit is reached, the high-visibility performance may be reduced, and the garment should be replaced to ensure continued compliance with safety regulations.
