Product Overview
The Sealtex Classic Winter Trousers are a robust solution for professionals who require dependable protection against both biting cold and heavy rainfall. Engineered with a focus on thermal efficiency and moisture management, these trousers serve as an essential outer layer for outdoor work in the most challenging British weather. The combination of a waterproof shell and full internal insulation ensures that the wearer remains warm and dry without compromising on the mobility required for active tasks.
Key Features
- Waterproof PU Coated Fabric: The Sealtex Classic shell provides a formidable barrier against wind and rain, ensuring you stay dry in saturated environments.
- Fully Insulated Lining: A substantial thermal filling is integrated to trap heat, providing critical warmth during prolonged exposure to low temperatures.
- Welded Seams: Unlike stitched seams that can leak over time, these seams are welded to create a completely watertight seal.
- Elasticated Waistband: The flexible waist allows for a wide range of movement and easily accommodates different layering systems.
- Stud-Adjustable Hems: Adjustable closures at the ankles allow for a secure fit around the tops of work boots, preventing water and draughts from entering.
Design & Performance
These trousers are constructed from a high-quality polyester tricot fabric with a polyurethane coating. This material choice is significant because it provides a flexible, lightweight feel while maintaining a high level of durability. The generous fit is a deliberate design choice, allowing the trousers to be worn comfortably over work trousers or thermal base layers without restricting movement. With an EN 343 Class 4:1 rating, they are technically verified to provide professional-grade waterproof protection.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Despite their insulated and coated nature, these trousers can be customised to align with your corporate branding. Embroidery is the preferred method for adding a professional finish, such as a company logo or employee name, providing a high-quality, permanent result. For larger, more prominent branding, our printing services offer a bold and clear finish. Every customisation project is managed by our expert in-house team in Telford, who have been perfecting garment decoration since 1976.
Use Cases
These trousers are ideally suited for individuals working in construction, site management, agriculture, or any outdoor trade where winter conditions are a constant factor. They are particularly effective for those who spend long hours stationary or in exposed environments where maintaining core body temperature is vital for safety and productivity.

Practical Advice
Due to the generous fit designed for layering, we recommend selecting your standard size unless you intend to wear exceptionally heavy garments underneath. For maximum weather protection, ensure the stud-adjustable hems are tightened securely over your footwear to create a continuous barrier against the elements.
Caring for your product
To maintain the waterproof integrity and thermal performance of your trousers, it is essential to follow specific care guidelines. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. High temperatures can damage the PU coating, which would compromise the garment's ability to repel water.
Bleaching agents must be avoided as they will degrade the polyester fibres and the waterproof membrane. Similarly, these trousers should not be tumble dried; the intense heat of a dryer can cause the welded seams to fail and the outer fabric to lose its shape. Instead, they should be drip-dried on a line.
Ironing is strictly discouraged, as direct heat will melt the waterproof coating. Finally, do not dry clean this garment, as the chemical solvents used in the process can strip away the protective finishes that make the Sealtex fabric effective.
