Product Overview
The Sealtex Classic Trousers are an essential addition to any outdoor worker's wardrobe, designed to provide exceptional protection in demanding environments. These lightweight over-trousers are engineered from Sealtex Classic fabric, a high-performance material consisting of a PU-coated polyester tricot. This combination ensures a completely waterproof barrier while remaining flexible enough for active use. Certified to EN 343 Class 4:1 X standards, these trousers offer significant water penetration resistance, making them a reliable choice for maintaining dryness and comfort during prolonged exposure to wet weather.
Key Features
- Elasticated Waist: Provides a comfortable, flexible fit that allows for a full range of movement and stretching without restriction during physical tasks.
- Stud-Adjustable Hems: Allows for a secure and tailored fit around the tops of work boots, preventing water ingress and ensuring the garment stays in place.
- Sealtex Classic Fabric: A lightweight yet extremely waterproof material that offers superior protection without adding unnecessary bulk to your workwear layering system.
- PU Coated Finish: Enhances the fabric's durability and ensures total resistance to water penetration, keeping the wearer dry in the harshest conditions.
Design & Performance
Constructed with technical precision, the Sealtex Classic Trousers utilise a 100% polyester tricot base. The application of a Polyurethane (PU) coating transforms the fabric into an impermeable shield against the elements. Because the material is lightweight, it avoids the restrictive, heavy feel often associated with traditional rainwear, promoting better mobility and reducing fatigue over a long shift. The design focus is on functionality; the generous fit allows these to be easily pulled over standard work trousers as weather conditions change, providing an adaptable solution for the unpredictable British climate.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Maintaining a consistent brand identity is vital, even in the rain. At MyWorkwear, our Telford-based team has been perfecting garment customisation since 1976. These trousers are suitable for both print and embroidery, allowing you to display your company logo with clarity.
Embroidery provides a sophisticated and durable finish for smaller logos or employee names, offering a high-calibre professional appearance. For larger, bold branding that needs to be visible from a distance, our printing services are highly effective. Both processes are handled in-house to ensure the technical integrity of the garment is respected during the customisation process.
Use Cases
These trousers are specifically designed for individuals working in sectors such as construction, logistics, and grounds maintenance. They are particularly effective for any role that requires frequent movement and long periods spent outdoors. Whether you are navigating a building site or performing maintenance in a rural location, these trousers serve as a dependable outer layer.

Practical Advice
As these are designed as over-trousers, we recommend ensuring your chosen size accounts for the clothing you intend to wear underneath. Proper layering is key to temperature regulation; these trousers excel as a final waterproof shell over breathable base layers or standard work trousers.
Caring for your product
To preserve the waterproof capabilities and technical performance of the Sealtex Classic fabric, it is vital to follow the recommended care routine. This ensures the PU coating remains intact and the garment continues to provide maximum protection.
We recommend a machine wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. High-temperature washes can damage the PU coating, leading to a loss of waterproof integrity. Avoid the use of bleach at all costs, as these chemicals will degrade the fabric fibres and strip the protective finish.
Do not tumble dry or iron this garment. Subjecting the PU-coated polyester to direct or excessive heat will cause the material to warp or melt, permanently damaging its performance. Instead, use drip line drying to allow the trousers to dry naturally. Finally, dry cleaning is not recommended, as the solvents used in the process are too harsh for the technical coatings applied to this fabric.
