Product Overview
In hazardous industrial environments, safety is not merely a preference but a mandatory requirement. The Modaflame Work Hi-Vis Multi-Norm Contrast FR Coverall is a sophisticated piece of protective equipment designed to provide comprehensive protection across multiple risk categories. Engineered with a specialised two-tone modacrylic fabric, this coverall ensures the wearer remains highly visible while benefiting from advanced flame resistance and anti-static properties. The design specifically addresses the rigorous demands of Arc Flash protection, making it an essential garment for those working in high-risk sectors where electrical and thermal hazards are a daily reality.
Key Features
- Advanced Multi-Norm Protection: Designed to meet stringent safety standards, providing a versatile solution for various hazardous work environments.
- Arc Flash Shielding: The enhanced fabric construction fulfills specific requirements for Arc Flash protection, significantly reducing the risk of injury in the event of an electrical fault.
- High-Visibility Integration: Strategic placement of reflective strips combined with fluorescent contrast fabric ensures maximum visibility in low-light conditions.
- Flame Resistant Properties: The inherent flame-resistant qualities of the fabric mean the protection will not wash out over time, offering long-term safety.
- Anti-Static Performance: The inclusion of carbon fibre provides essential protection against electrostatic discharge, which is critical in volatile environments.
Design & Performance
The performance of this coverall is rooted in its technical fabric composition. It is constructed from a medium-weight blend of 60% Modacrylic, 39% Cotton, and 1% Carbon Fibre. This combination is precisely balanced to offer both safety and wearability. The modacrylic provides the primary flame resistance, while the high cotton content ensures the garment remains breathable and comfortable during extended shifts. The 1% carbon fibre is woven throughout to manage static electricity effectively.
Structurally, the coverall is designed to withstand the physical rigours of manual labour. The contrast navy panels are placed in areas prone to soiling, helping to maintain a cleaner appearance for longer. The medium-weight feel of the fabric provides a reassuring sense of durability without restricting the mobility required for complex technical tasks.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Despite the technical nature of this safety garment, maintaining a professional corporate identity remains important. This coverall is suitable for both print and embroidery customisation. Embroidery is recommended for company logos and individual staff names, providing a durable and professional appearance that withstands industrial laundering. For larger, high-impact branding or safety identifiers, our printing services offer a sharp and vibrant finish.
Our expert team at MyWorkwear has been handling technical garment customisation since 1976. All customisation is performed in-house at our Telford-based facility, ensuring that the integrity of the flame-resistant fabric is respected while delivering a high-quality finish for your business.
Use Cases
This coverall is specifically engineered for professionals working in the utilities, petrochemical, and electrical engineering sectors. It is particularly well-suited for electricians who require Arc Flash protection, as well as technicians operating in environments where there is a risk of flame exposure or static build-up. Its high-visibility features also make it appropriate for rail or construction sites where multi-hazard protection is required.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, consider the layers you intend to wear underneath. As this is a medium-weight coverall, it is designed to fit comfortably over base layers. Ensure that any garments worn beneath the coverall are also made of non-melting fibres to maintain the full effectiveness of the flame-resistant protection. If you are between sizes, we generally recommend opting for the larger size to ensure full range of motion when climbing or reaching.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-performance safety characteristics of this coverall, it is essential to follow the care instructions meticulously. Neglecting proper care can compromise the garment's protective properties and shorten its service life.
We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C using a normal process. Washing at this temperature ensures that industrial contaminants are effectively removed without damaging the modacrylic fibres or the reflective tape.
Do not use bleach under any circumstances. Bleaching agents can degrade the chemical structure of the flame-resistant fibres and significantly reduce the garment's ability to protect the wearer from thermal hazards.
Tumble drying should be performed on a low setting. Excessive heat in the drying process can cause shrinkage and may damage the reflective strips, reducing your visibility on-site.
If ironing is required, use a maximum sole-plate temperature of 150°C. This ensures the garment looks professional without melting the synthetic components of the fabric blend.
Finally, do not dry clean this garment. The chemicals used in dry cleaning can interfere with the flame-resistant finish and may leave residues that could be flammable, posing a serious safety risk.
