Product Overview
The PF20 Mesh Visor is a specialised component designed for professionals requiring high-performance face protection without the fogging issues often associated with solid visors. Constructed from galvanised carbon steel mesh, this visor provides a resilient barrier against large flying particles and debris, making it an essential addition to any modular head protection system.
Key Features
Galvanised Carbon Steel Mesh: The use of galvanised steel ensures the visor remains resistant to corrosion and maintains its structural integrity when faced with impact from debris.
Modular Compatibility: Designed for versatility, it integrates seamlessly with PS58 or PF02 visor carriers and can be paired with the PF01 browguard for standalone use.
Direct Replacement: This unit acts as a direct replacement visor for PW93 and PW98 face shields, allowing you to maintain your equipment without replacing the entire assembly.
Design & Performance
The design of the PF20 focuses on balancing protection with wearer comfort. By using a mesh structure rather than a solid lens, it allows for maximum ventilation, which is vital during strenuous physical labour. The frame is composed of ABS and Polypropylene (PP), materials chosen for their high impact resistance and lightweight properties, ensuring the visor does not feel cumbersome when attached to a helmet.
The galvanisation of the carbon steel is a critical technical detail; it involves a protective zinc coating that prevents the mesh from rusting, ensuring the product remains reliable even when used in damp or outdoor environments. The black finish reduces glare, helping the wearer maintain focus on the task at hand.
Use Cases
This mesh visor is specifically engineered for forestry work, landscaping, and site clearance. It is the preferred choice for operators using chainsaws, strimmers, or chippers, where protection against wood chips and large debris is required but airflow is essential to prevent heat exhaustion and lens fogging.

Practical Advice
Before purchasing, please verify that you have a compatible carrier such as the PS58 or PF02. When fitting the visor, ensure the mesh is correctly seated within the frame clips to maintain full protective coverage. For those working in very fine dust environments, we recommend assessing whether a mesh visor or a solid polycarbonate visor is more appropriate for the specific particle size encountered.
Caring for your product
To maintain the performance of the galvanised steel mesh, clean it regularly with a soft-bristled brush or compressed air. Removing trapped dust and organic debris is essential for maintaining clear visibility and preventing the buildup of moisture-trapping material.
If the visor becomes wet during use, dry it thoroughly with a lint-free cloth. While the steel is galvanised to resist corrosion, keeping the mesh dry when not in use will significantly extend the life of the product and prevent any surface oxidation.
Avoid using harsh chemical solvents on the ABS and Polypropylene frame. Such chemicals can cause the plastic to become brittle over time, which may lead to the visor failing to clip securely into the carrier system. A simple wipe with a damp cloth and mild detergent is sufficient for the frame components.
