Product Overview
The Hi-Vis Ultrasonic Heated Tunnel Jacket is a sophisticated solution for professionals operating in harsh, cold-weather environments where standard insulation is insufficient. This garment integrates high-visibility safety standards with active heating technology, utilizing carbon fibre panels to provide direct warmth to the wearer. Constructed with innovative heat-sealed baffle fabric, the jacket offers superior water resistance and thermal retention compared to traditionally stitched alternatives, ensuring you remain dry and comfortable during long shifts in inclement weather.
Key Features
- Carbon Fibre Heated Panels: These integrated panels provide active heat generation, significantly increasing comfort when working in sub-zero temperatures.
- Three Heat Settings: Controlled by a simple chest button, this feature allows you to manage your own microclimate based on the intensity of your work or the external temperature.
- Heat-Sealed Baffle Fabric: By eliminating needle holes through ultrasonic bonding, this jacket increases its resistance to water penetration and prevents insulation from shifting or escaping.
- Ripstop Outer Shell: The polyester pongee ripstop fabric ensures the jacket can withstand the rigours of a busy site without easily snagging or tearing.
- TPU Membrane: This high-performance layer is bonded to the fabric to provide an essential barrier against wind and rain while maintaining the garment's integrity.
Design & Performance
This jacket is engineered from a sturdy polyester pongee ripstop shell, which is bonded to a TPU membrane and a polyester tricot knit. This complex multi-layer construction provides a robust exterior that is both wind-resistant and durable. The internal lining is crafted from smooth polyester taffeta, making it easy to layer over other workwear without the fabric catching or bunching.
The standout performance feature is the use of ultrasonic bonding for the insulation baffles. Unlike traditional quilted jackets that use thread, this method creates a seamless finish that prevents 'cold spots' and ensures the medium-weight insulation remains evenly distributed across the torso. The orange and black high-visibility design ensures compliance with safety regulations while providing a modern, professional appearance.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Despite the technical nature of the heated panels, this jacket is well-suited for professional customisation. For a truly professional finish, we recommend embroidery for company logos and individual names. The textured surface of the ripstop fabric provides a stable base for high-quality stitching, helping your brand stand out on-site.
If you require larger, more vibrant branding, our Telford-based team can also apply high-quality prints. Since 1976, MyWorkwear has specialised in ensuring that custom branding is applied with precision, maintaining the garment's performance while enhancing your business's professional image. All customisation is handled in-house by our expert technicians.
Use Cases
This jacket is ideal for personnel working in highway maintenance, railway engineering, or construction during the winter months. It is also a superb choice for logistics professionals operating in cold-storage environments or outdoor yard staff who require both high visibility and active warmth throughout their shift.

Practical Advice
To maximise the efficiency of the heated panels, we recommend wearing the jacket over a moisture-wicking base layer rather than a thick jumper. This allows the heat to transfer more effectively to your body. When selecting your size, ensure there is enough room for movement, as the ripstop fabric is designed for durability rather than high levels of mechanical stretch.
Caring for your product
Maintaining the technical components of this jacket is essential for its longevity and your safety. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum of 30°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures can damage the ultrasonic bonds and the integrated carbon fibre heating elements.
Do not use bleach on this garment, as it will degrade the fluorescent orange dye and reduce the effectiveness of the high-visibility properties. The jacket should not be tumble dried; instead, line dry it in the shade to prevent heat damage to the TPU membrane and electrical components.
Do not iron this jacket. The synthetic polyester shell and internal membrane are susceptible to melting under direct heat. Additionally, do not dry clean this garment. Please note that this jacket is rated for a maximum of 25 washes to ensure the reflective materials and heating technology continue to meet safety specifications.
