Product Overview
The PW3 Hi-Vis 3-in-1 Pilot Jacket represents a sophisticated approach to multi-functional workwear. Designed to adapt to the unpredictable British weather, this garment functions as a heavy-duty jacket, a lightweight pilot jacket, or a standalone fleece bodywarmer. The intelligent design allows the wearer to modify their level of protection and warmth throughout the day without needing multiple separate garments. Constructed with a focus on durability and visibility, it provides a reliable solution for professionals who require high-performance apparel that doesn't falter when the environment changes.
Key Features
- 3-in-1 Versatility: The zip-out sleeves and removable fleece bodywarmer provide three distinct configurations, ensuring you are prepared for everything from freezing mornings to mild afternoons.
- Kingsmill Shell Fabric: A blend of cotton and polyester offers the breathable comfort of natural fibres alongside the hard-wearing resilience of synthetic materials.
- Polyester Wadding: The integrated filling provides essential thermal insulation, trapping heat to keep the core warm in cold conditions.
- Detachable Elements: High-quality zips allow for the quick removal of sleeves, transforming the jacket into a gilet-style garment for increased arm mobility.
- High Visibility Design: The Orange and Black colourway ensures you remain visible in low-light environments, meeting essential safety requirements for hazardous sites.
Design & Performance
The core of this jacket's performance lies in its Kingsmill polycotton shell. This fabric is specifically engineered to withstand the rigours of daily manual labour while maintaining a professional appearance. By combining cotton and polyester, the material offers a soft handle against the skin with a high resistance to abrasions and tearing. The medium-weight construction ensures the jacket feels substantial and protective without being overly cumbersome.
Inside, the 100% polyester lining and wadding work in tandem to regulate body temperature. When the temperature drops, the substantial fleece bodywarmer provides an extra layer of thermal protection. The workmanship is evident in the reinforced stitching and secure fastenings, which are designed to endure the stresses of a busy work site.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This jacket is an excellent canvas for corporate branding, supporting both print and embroidery. For a truly professional and long-lasting finish, we recommend embroidery for company logos and staff names; our high-density stitching ensures your brand stands out with a textured, premium look that survives repeated laundering. If you require large, bold graphics or promotional messaging on the back of the jacket, our precision printing services offer vibrant colour reproduction that remains visible from a distance. All customisation is managed by our expert in-house team in Telford, ensuring your workwear meets our exacting standards before it reaches your door.
Use Cases
This pilot jacket is ideally suited for workers in the construction, logistics, and roadside assistance sectors where visibility is a legal and practical necessity. Its adaptable nature makes it perfect for supervisors who move between outdoor sites and indoor offices, or for tradespeople working in environments with fluctuating temperatures. It provides the professional look required for client-facing roles while offering the technical performance needed for manual tasks.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, consider what you intend to wear underneath. The 3-in-1 design is naturally more generous to accommodate the internal fleece; if you prefer a very close fit and do not plan on heavy layering, you may wish to review our size guide. The zip-out sleeves are particularly useful for tasks requiring a full range of arm movement, such as overhead reaching or operating machinery.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-visibility properties and structural integrity of your jacket, it is essential to follow the care instructions precisely. Failure to do so can lead to a reduction in the garment's protective life.
We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Using higher temperatures can damage the synthetic fibres and cause the hi-vis pigments to fade prematurely. Do not use bleach, as this will aggressively strip the colour and compromise the reflective elements of the jacket.
The garment should be drip line dried only. Avoid tumble drying or using high heat sources, as the polyester wadding and shell can lose their shape or shrink when exposed to excessive heat. Do not iron the jacket, as direct heat can melt the synthetic components and damage any applied print or embroidery.
Please note that this garment has a maximum limit of 25 washes. Beyond this point, the reflective materials may no longer meet the required safety standards for high-visibility performance, and the garment should be replaced to ensure continued safety on site. Do not dry clean, as the chemicals used in the process can degrade the specialized fabrics.
