Product Overview
The Hi-Vis Polycotton Service Bib and Brace is a fundamental component of professional safety attire, specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of the rail and roadside sectors. Constructed from a durable polycotton blend, this medium-weight garment balances breathability with structural integrity. Its high-visibility orange hue ensures maximum conspicuity in hazardous environments, while the integrated Texpel finish provides an essential barrier against the dirt and grime common in industrial settings.
Key Features
- Texpel Stain-Repellent Finish: This advanced coating causes liquids to bead and roll off the fabric, preventing permanent staining and ensuring the garment remains presentable throughout the working day.
- Large Zipped Bib Pocket: Provides a secure and accessible compartment for essential tools or mobile devices, keeping them protected while you work.
- Adjustable Shoulder Straps: Allows for a tailored fit regardless of your height or the layers worn underneath, ensuring the garment remains comfortably in place during movement.
- Substantial Kingsmill Fabric: The 80% polyester and 20% cotton blend offers the strength of synthetic fibres alongside the comfort of cotton, creating a long-lasting workwear solution.
Design & Performance
Performance in high-risk environments requires more than just bright colours. This bib and brace is crafted from Kingsmill Polycotton, a fabric chosen for its ability to withstand the friction and abrasion typical of manual labour. The design focuses on utility, ensuring that the wearer has a full range of motion without the garment feeling restrictive. The addition of the Texpel finish is particularly beneficial for those working near machinery or vehicles, as it helps the fabric resist oil and water-based spills, which can otherwise compromise the visibility of the orange material over time.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Ensuring your team is easily identifiable is a key aspect of site safety and brand reputation. This bib and brace is suitable for both print and embroidery customisation. Embroidery is recommended for company logos or staff names, providing a superior, hard-wearing finish that stands up to industrial laundering. For larger, more complex graphics where high visibility is required from a distance, our high-quality printing process is an ideal choice.
Our experienced team in Telford has been handling garment customisation since 1976, ensuring that every logo is applied with precision so it does not interfere with the garment's safety performance.
Use Cases
This garment is specifically engineered for professionals in the rail industry and roadside maintenance. It is equally suited for construction site managers, recovery drivers, and any industrial environment where high-visibility torso and leg protection are mandatory. Its robust construction makes it a reliable choice for workers who transition between technical tasks and physical labour.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, consider the layers you intend to wear underneath. As a bib and brace is often worn over existing work trousers or thermal base layers, ensuring there is enough room for movement in the midsection is vital. The adjustable straps provide some flexibility, but we recommend a size that allows for comfortable bending and kneeling.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-visibility performance and stain-repellent properties of this garment, it is essential to follow the specific care instructions provided. Failure to do so can degrade the reflective qualities and fabric strength over time.
We recommend a mild process wash at a maximum temperature of 50°C. Exceeding this temperature can damage the polyester fibres and cause the orange dye to fade prematurely, reducing your visibility on site.
Do not use bleach when cleaning this garment. Bleach is highly corrosive to high-visibility fabrics and will destroy the fluorescent properties of the material, rendering it unsafe for use in regulated environments.
This product should not be tumble dried; instead, we advise drip line drying. High heat from a dryer can compromise the Texpel finish and cause the garment to shrink. When ironing, ensure the temperature does not exceed 150°C to avoid melting the synthetic components.
Finally, please note that the garment is certified for a maximum of 50 washes. After this point, the reflective and fluorescent properties may no longer meet the required safety standards, and the item should be replaced to ensure continued protection.
