Product Overview
The Hi-Vis Extreme Rain Trousers are engineered for professionals who require uncompromising protection against the most demanding weather conditions. Unlike standard waterproofs that can feel restrictive and humid, these trousers utilize Portwest Extreme fabric—a high-performance 300D Stretch Oxford weave that balances complete water resistance with essential breathability. This ensures that while rain and wind are kept firmly at bay, internal moisture is allowed to escape, preventing the discomfort often associated with high-intensity physical labour.
Key Features
- Waterproof, Windproof, and Breathable: The advanced PU membrane provides a total shield against external elements while ensuring airflow, keeping you dry from both rain and perspiration.
- Elasticated Waistband with Inner Drawcord: This dual-adjustment system ensures a secure, comfortable fit that remains in place even when moving frequently or bending on site.
- Side Access Pockets: Designed for practicality, these allow you to reach into the pockets of your under-trousers without needing to remove your outer layer, keeping your tools and personal items accessible.
- Zip Fastening at Side Leg: A critical design feature that allows the trousers to be easily pulled over large work boots, saving time and effort during sudden downpours.
- Stain-Resistant Finish: The outer fabric is treated to repel oils and dirt, ensuring the high-visibility orange remains bright and effective for longer.
Design & Performance
Constructed from a robust medium-weight 100% Polyester Stretch Oxford fabric, these trousers are built for the rigours of the modern site. The stretch properties of the material are particularly noteworthy; they allow for a range of motion that standard rigid waterproofs simply cannot match. The addition of a PU membrane is what elevates this garment from simple rainwear to a technical piece of equipment, providing a sophisticated barrier that manages the climate inside the trousers as effectively as the weather outside.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
At MyWorkwear, we understand that your gear needs to represent your business as much as it protects you. These trousers are suitable for both print and embroidery. Embroidery is the preferred choice for a superior, professional finish, typically used for company logos or staff names that need to withstand heavy use. For larger, bold branding that needs to stand out at a distance, our high-quality heat-applied printing is an excellent alternative. Our expert team, based in our Telford facility since 1976, handles all customisation in-house to ensure the highest standards of quality control.
Use Cases
These trousers are an essential choice for anyone working in outdoor environments where visibility and weather protection are non-negotiable. They are particularly well-suited for rail workers, civil engineers, and construction professionals who find themselves working through the British winter. The high-visibility orange colour makes them ideal for environments requiring adherence to specific safety standards while working near moving machinery or vehicles.
Why MyWorkwear

Operating from our specialized facility in Telford, our team combines decades of experience with modern technology to deliver custom-branded workwear that performs under pressure.
Practical Advice
Due to the generous fit designed to accommodate undergarments, we recommend ordering your usual size. Use the side leg zips to your advantage; open them fully before putting the trousers on to avoid damaging the internal membrane with the soles of your boots. For those working in particularly cold environments, these trousers function exceptionally well as a shell layer over thermal base layers.
Caring for your product
To maintain the technical performance and safety certifications of these trousers, proper care is essential. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum of 40°C using a mild process. High temperatures or harsh detergents can degrade the PU membrane, eventually compromising the waterproof integrity of the garment.
Do not use bleach, as this will destroy the high-visibility pigments and weaken the polyester fibres. These trousers must not be tumble dried; instead, they should be drip-lined dried to preserve the shape and the effectiveness of the stain-resistant finish.
Do not iron this garment. The high heat of an iron will melt the PU membrane and synthetic fibres, rendering the trousers useless. Similarly, do not dry clean. Finally, please note that this garment has a maximum limit of 25 washes to ensure it continues to meet its safety luminosity standards; beyond this, the reflective properties may diminish.
