Product Overview

The DX4 Hi-Vis Rain Trouser represents a significant advancement in foul-weather workwear. Designed for professionals who refuse to let the elements dictate their productivity, these trousers merge a modern, dynamic aesthetic with highly functional, technical textiles. The primary focus is on providing a high-visibility solution that does not restrict movement, utilizing a superior stretch fabric that allows for a full range of motion while maintaining a robust barrier against wind and rain.

Key Features

  • HiVisTexPro Reflective Tape: This heat-applied segmented tape offers increased flexibility over traditional solid tapes, ensuring the wearer remains visible without the garment feeling restrictive.
  • Texpel Splash Eco Finish: An environmentally conscious water-resistant coating that encourages water to bead and roll off the fabric surface, keeping the garment lighter and drier for longer.
  • Waterproof Zips: Integrated throughout the design to prevent moisture ingress at critical points, ensuring that your personal items and tools remain protected from the rain.
  • Multiple Utility Pockets: Strategically placed storage options allow for the secure carriage of essential equipment, keeping tools within reach while on site.
  • Stretch Breathable Fabric: This material choice ensures that while external moisture is kept out, internal perspiration can escape, maintaining a comfortable internal microclimate during physical exertion.

Design & Performance

The performance of the DX4 Rain Trouser is rooted in its sophisticated material composition. This is a substantial, sturdy garment designed for durability in harsh environments. The use of stretch fabric is a deliberate design choice to counter the traditional stiffness associated with waterproof trousers, making them far more suitable for tasks requiring kneeling, climbing, or frequent movement.

The contrast Orange and Black design is not merely aesthetic; it is designed to hide dirt in high-contact areas while ensuring the fluorescent orange sections remain bright and compliant with safety standards. The integration of a breathable membrane ensures that even during high-intensity work, the wearer remains comfortable and dry from the inside out.

Why No Customisation?

At MyWorkwear, we prioritise your safety and the longevity of your technical garments. These trousers are sold without customisation because the application of embroidery or standard heat-transfers would compromise the waterproof integrity of the fabric. Puncturing the membrane with needles or applying high heat to already heat-sensitive reflective tape could diminish the protective qualities and safety certifications of the garment. For these reasons, we provide this item in its original, high-performance state.

Use Cases

These trousers are an essential item for workers in civil engineering, road maintenance, and construction where high visibility and weather protection are non-negotiable. They are equally suited for rail workers or site managers who require a professional appearance while braving the unpredictable British climate.

Why MyWorkwear

Since 1976, MyWorkwear has been at the forefront of the UK workwear industry. Operating from our specialised facility in Telford, we bring decades of expertise to every product we supply. We understand that workwear is not just clothing; it is a vital tool for your trade, and we select our range based on the strict requirements of durability, safety, and comfort.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, consider that these trousers are often worn as an outer layer. For maximum comfort and thermal regulation, we recommend wearing them over a lightweight base layer or standard work trousers in colder conditions. Ensure the leg length is sufficient to cover the top of your safety boots to prevent water from entering your footwear.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-visibility properties and waterproof performance of these trousers, proper maintenance is essential. Neglecting care instructions can lead to a degradation of the reflective tape and the water-repellent finish.

We recommend a gentle machine wash at 40°C. Using a standard domestic wash ensures that dirt and oils, which can mask the fluorescent pigment and damage the fabric, are effectively removed. Avoid using biological detergents or fabric softeners, as these can strip the Texpel water-resistant finish and clog the breathable pores of the fabric.

Do not use bleach, as this will permanently damage the hi-vis dye and the integrity of the reflective tape. Air drying is strongly recommended; excessive heat from a tumble dryer can cause the heat-applied reflective tape to peel or crack. Finally, do not iron the garment, as direct heat will melt the waterproof membrane and synthetic fibres.
