Product Overview

The Hi-Vis Breathable Contrast Rain Bib and Brace is a masterclass in functional safety gear, designed to provide comprehensive protection for the chest and lower body in challenging wet conditions. Constructed from a high-specification 300D Oxford weave polyester, this garment is engineered to keep the wearer dry without the stifling discomfort often associated with traditional waterproofs. The contrast Orange and Navy design serves a dual purpose: the bright orange ensures maximum visibility in low-light environments, while the navy sections are strategically placed to hide dirt in high-contact areas, maintaining a professional appearance throughout the working day.

Key Features

  • 300D Oxford Weave Fabric: A sturdy, weave-dense material that provides exceptional durability and resistance against abrasions and tears.
  • Double PU Coating: This secondary layer of protection ensures the garment is completely waterproof, preventing moisture ingress even during heavy downpours.
  • Stain Resistant Finish: A specialized treatment that repels oil and dirt, making it easier to maintain the garment’s high-visibility properties over time.
  • Breathable Construction: Designed to allow perspiration to escape, this feature is essential for physical labour to prevent internal moisture build-up.
  • Chest and Lower Body Coverage: The bib and brace design offers significantly more protection than standard trousers, ensuring your core remains dry when working in driving rain.

Design & Performance

Performance in the field relies on fabric integrity. This garment utilizes a mid-weight 300D Oxford polyester which offers a substantial feel without being overly heavy or restrictive. The double PU coating is not merely a surface treatment; it is a technical barrier that works alongside the breathable nature of the fabric to balance external waterproofness with internal comfort. The contrast panelling is a practical addition for those working in environments where grease and grime are unavoidable, ensuring the critical high-visibility sections remain effective for longer.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

At MyWorkwear, we understand that your uniform is your calling card. This bib and brace is suitable for both print and embroidery customisation. For a professional finish, we recommend embroidery for company logos or staff names; our high-quality threads are designed to withstand the rigours of site work. If you require large-scale, high-impact branding, our printing process offers a bold finish that stands out. All customisation is performed in-house at our Telford facility by our expert team, drawing on nearly five decades of experience since our founding in 1976.

Use Cases

This garment is ideally suited for professionals in construction, civil engineering, and roadside assistance who require high-visibility protection while working outdoors. It is particularly effective for those in the transport and logistics sectors who frequently move between vehicle cabs and exposed environments, where the breathable fabric prevents overheating while providing a robust barrier against the elements.

We don't just sell clothes; we provide essential equipment that works as hard as you do.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, consider that this bib and brace is often worn over existing work trousers or base layers. To ensure maximum mobility, especially when bending or climbing, you may wish to allow for a slightly more generous fit. The breathable nature of the fabric makes it an excellent outer shell for year-round use when paired with appropriate thermal layers during colder months.

Caring for your product

Maintaining the technical properties of this garment is vital for your safety. We recommend a mild domestic wash at 40°C. Using harsh detergents or higher temperatures can degrade the waterproof PU coating and damage the reflective tape, eventually compromising the garment's hi-vis certification.

Do not use bleach, as this will destroy the fluorescent dyes and significantly reduce visibility. The garment should not be tumble dried; instead, we advise a drip line dry. Exposing the fabric to the high heat of a tumble dryer or an iron can melt the synthetic fibres and the protective coatings, rendering the garment ineffective against rain. Furthermore, dry cleaning should be avoided as the chemicals used can strip away the stain-resistant finish.

Please note that this garment has a maximum limit of 50 washes. Beyond this point, the reflective and fluorescent qualities may no longer meet the required safety standards, and the item should be replaced to ensure continued protection.
