Product Overview

The Hi-Vis Band and Brace Jacket with long sleeves is a fundamental component of high-visibility workwear, engineered for those who require maximum visibility without the bulk of a heavy outer layer. This orange vest provides comprehensive coverage across the torso and arms, ensuring the wearer remains conspicuous in hazardous environments or low-light conditions. Constructed from a lightweight fabric, it is designed to be worn over existing clothing, offering an essential layer of safety that does not impede movement or cause overheating during physical exertion.

Key Features
  • Long-sleeved design provides increased surface area for high-visibility material and reflective tape, ensuring visibility from more angles.
  • The 100% polyester warp knit fabric is breathable and durable, designed to withstand the daily rigours of active work environments.
  • Classic band and brace reflective tape configuration ensures compliance with safety standards by highlighting the human form.
  • The lightweight construction makes it an ideal choice for year-round use, fitting easily over summer t-shirts or winter fleeces.

Design & Performance

The performance of this garment relies on its warp knit construction. Unlike standard knits, warp knitting provides a stable, run-resistant fabric that maintains its shape even under tension. The 100% polyester composition is specifically chosen for its ability to hold the fluorescent orange dye, ensuring the garment remains vibrant and effective over time. Despite its substantial coverage, the fabric remains exceptionally light, preventing fatigue during long shifts while providing the necessary visual presence required for site safety.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This hi-vis jacket is an excellent canvas for corporate branding. For a professional and enduring finish, we recommend embroidery for company logos and staff names. The stable warp knit fabric supports high-quality stitching, providing a textured, premium appearance that reinforces your brand’s authority. Alternatively, print is highly effective for larger back-designs, such as "SITE MANAGER" or "SECURITY," where bold, high-contrast text is required for immediate identification. Our expert in-house team in Telford, with experience dating back to 1976, ensures every garment is customised to the highest standards.

Use Cases

Given its high-visibility orange colour and full-arm coverage, this vest is well-suited for a variety of professional sectors. It is essential equipment for construction workers, tree surgeons, and electricians who frequently work in environments where being seen is a safety requirement. It is also highly effective for plumbers, mechanics, and security personnel who need a lightweight, identifiable uniform that can be quickly donned or removed as the task dictates.

Practical Advice

To ensure the best fit, we recommend selecting a size that allows for layering over your standard work attire. As this is a long-sleeved garment, consider the sleeve length in relation to any gloves or specialist equipment you may be using. If you are frequently transitioning between indoor and outdoor environments, this lightweight vest provides a useful balance of safety and temperature regulation.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-visibility performance and longevity of this garment, it is vital to follow the care instructions precisely. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Exceeding this temperature can degrade the polyester fibres and the reflective beads within the tape, reducing the garment's safety effectiveness.

Under no circumstances should bleach be used on this garment. Bleach will strip the fluorescent orange pigment from the fabric and permanently damage the reflective strips, rendering the vest non-compliant with safety standards. Similarly, the garment should not be tumble dried; heat from a dryer can warp the synthetic knit and damage reflective elements. Instead, the jacket should be line dried.

Do not iron this garment, as the heat may melt the polyester fabric or the adhesive used for the reflective tape. Additionally, this item is not suitable for dry cleaning. Finally, please note that this garment has a maximum limit of 50 washes. Beyond this point, the reflective materials may no longer meet the required luminosity standards, and the garment should be replaced to ensure continued protection.
