Product Overview
The Hi-Vis 5-in-1 Contrast Essential Jacket is a masterclass in adaptability, designed to meet the rigorous demands of the British workforce across all four seasons. This is not merely a single garment but a modular system that can be configured in five distinct ways to suit shifting weather conditions and activity levels. From a fully insulated waterproof parka to a lightweight high-visibility waistcoat, this jacket provides exceptional value without compromising on safety or performance.
Key Features
- Adaptable 5-in-1 design allows for configuration as an outer parka, an inner waterproof jacket, or a fleece-sleeved waistcoat, ensuring year-round utility.
- Constructed from a substantial Oxford weave polyester with a stain-resistant finish, providing a robust barrier against both the elements and site debris.
- Integrated concealed hood and stud-adjustable cuffs on the outer jacket offer customisable protection against wind and rain.
- Inner jacket features detachable fluorescent fleece sleeves, permitting a quick transition between a warm mid-layer and a high-visibility vest.
- Dark navy contrast panels are strategically placed in high-wear areas to mask the inevitable accumulation of dirt and grime, maintaining a cleaner appearance for longer.
Design & Performance
Engineered for longevity, the shell is crafted from a sturdy Oxford weave polyester. This fabric is double PU coated, creating a waterproof yet breathable shield that is highly resistant to abrasions and tears. The stain-resistant finish ensures that the vibrant orange remains visible, a critical safety factor when working in low-light environments.
Internally, the jacket prioritises comfort and thermal regulation. The outer shell uses a breathable mesh lining, while the inner jacket is lined with a soft, medium-weight polar fleece. This combination allows for excellent heat retention when fully assembled, yet provides the flexibility to shed layers as the temperature rises or the physical intensity of the work increases.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The versatile surfaces of both the inner and outer jackets are well-suited for professional branding. For a refined, corporate appearance, embroidery is the preferred choice for company logos or staff names on the chest. The dense weave of the fabric provides a stable foundation for high-quality stitching that will withstand the rigours of daily wear.
If your requirements include large-scale branding or bold promotional graphics, our heat-applied print processes offer a sharp, high-impact finish. Based in our Telford facility since 1976, our in-house team ensures that your customisation is executed with the precision that your brand deserves.
Use Cases
This multi-way jacket is ideal for personnel in construction, civil engineering, and logistics who require high-visibility protection throughout the changing seasons. Its adaptability makes it particularly useful for site managers and supervisors who frequently transition between outdoor site inspections and indoor administrative tasks.

Practical Advice
Given the 5-in-1 nature of this garment, consider the layering you intend to wear beneath it. The generous fit accommodates additional base layers, but the integrated fleece lining in the inner jacket often provides sufficient warmth on its own during the colder months. Ensure the fluorescent sleeves are securely attached when full high-visibility compliance is required on-site.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-visibility properties and waterproof integrity of this jacket, we recommend a mild domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Exceeding this temperature can damage the PU coating and the retro-reflective tape, potentially compromising your safety.
Do not use bleach or harsh chemical cleaners, as these will degrade the stain-resistant finish and fade the high-visibility pigments. The garment should be drip-line dried only; mechanical tumble drying should be avoided to prevent heat damage to the synthetic fibres and the reflective elements.
Finally, do not iron or dry clean this jacket. Excessive heat or chemical solvents will cause the waterproof membrane to fail. This garment is rated for a maximum of 50 wash cycles, after which the reflective performance should be reassessed to ensure continued compliance with safety standards.
