Product Overview

The Food Industry 1 Pocket Coat is a purposefully engineered garment designed to meet the rigorous hygiene and durability standards of the catering and food production sectors. This navy blue coat offers a professional appearance while maintaining the functionality required for long shifts in demanding environments. Constructed from our signature Kingsmill polycotton fabric, it provides a reliable barrier that protects both the wearer and the food products being handled.

By prioritising a clean design with minimal external catch points, this coat is well-suited for high-care environments where safety and sanitation are paramount. The inclusion of a single internal pocket ensures that essential items are stored securely without compromising the hygiene profile of the outer garment.

Key Features
  • Hard-wearing Kingsmill Fabric: A medium-weight polycotton blend that offers exceptional durability, ensuring the garment withstands the daily pressures of a professional kitchen or factory floor.
  • Internal Storage Pocket: Provides a secure location for personal items or tools, keeping them tucked away to prevent accidental loss in production areas.
  • Pre-shrunk Material: The fabric is fully pre-shrunk during manufacturing, meaning the coat will maintain its original shape and fit even after repeated laundering.
  • Superior Dye Retention: Engineered to hold its navy colour through numerous wash cycles, ensuring your team maintains a consistent and professional look over time.

Design & Performance

The performance of this coat is rooted in its material composition: 65% polyester and 35% cotton. This specific ratio combines the high-tensile strength and wrinkle resistance of polyester with the natural breathability and comfort of cotton. It is a medium-weight fabric that feels substantial enough to protect against spills and splashes without being overly restrictive or heavy.

The design focuses on longevity. Reinforced seams and high-quality finishing mean this coat won't fall apart on the job. The Kingsmill fabric is not only tough but also remarkably comfortable, providing the ease of movement necessary for tasks ranging from precision butchery to large-scale baking operations.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

Maintaining a cohesive brand identity is essential in the food industry. This coat is well-suited for both print and embroidery customisation, which is handled by our expert in-house team in Telford. We have been perfecting these techniques since 1976, ensuring your logo is applied with precision.

Embroidery is the preferred choice for a professional finish, ideal for staff names or company logos on the chest area. It provides a three-dimensional, high-quality look that stands up well to frequent washing. For larger branding requirements on the back of the coat, our printing services offer a bold and clear finish that is highly visible in the workplace.

Use Cases

This coat is a versatile staple for various roles within the food and hospitality sectors. It is particularly effective for butchers, bakers, and food prep technicians who require a clean, professional outer layer. It is also an excellent choice for supervisors and laboratory staff operating within food production facilities who need to move between the office and the factory floor while maintaining hygiene standards.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, consider what you will be wearing beneath the coat. If it is intended to be worn over thick jumpers or additional layers, you may find that opting for a size larger provides a more comfortable fit. The generous 4XL sizing ensures a professional appearance for all team members without restricting movement.

Caring for your product

To maintain the structural integrity and professional appearance of your coat, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C. This temperature is effective for removing stubborn stains and maintaining hygiene while preventing damage to the polycotton fibres.

You should avoid the use of bleach, as this will degrade the polyester fibres and cause the navy colour to fade prematurely. For drying, the garment can be tumble dried on a normal setting, but drip line drying is recommended where possible to extend the life of any custom print or embroidery.

If ironing is required, use a maximum temperature of 150°C. This ensures the fabric remains smooth without scorching the synthetic components. For deep cleaning, the coat is suitable for professional dry cleaning using tetrachloroethene, which can help remove heavy oils or industrial residues while preserving the fabric's finish.
