Product Overview
The DX4 Hi-Vis Hybrid Baffle Bodywarmer is a sophisticated piece of technical workwear designed for professionals who refuse to choose between insulation and mobility. Utilising an advanced body-mapped construction, this gilet strategically places warmth where it is needed most while allowing for an unrestricted range of movement through its side panels and segmented tape. The high-visibility Orange and Black design ensures you remain seen in low-light environments, while the ripstop outer fabric provides a resilient barrier against the rigours of the job site.
Key Features
- HiVisTex Pro Segmented Tape: This heat-applied reflective tape is broken into segments, which allows the garment to flex naturally with your body movements, unlike traditional rigid tapes.
- Extensive Storage Solutions: Equipped with two zipped chest pockets, side entry pockets, and dedicated internal compartments, providing ample secure space for mobile devices and essential hand tools.
- Body-Mapped Design: The construction focuses on thermal efficiency, balancing lightweight insulation with high-performance fabrics to prevent overheating during physical exertion.
- Insulatex Lining: The internal filling offers superior warmth without adding unnecessary bulk, making it an ideal layer for transitional weather.
Design & Performance
The performance of the DX479 is rooted in its material composition. The primary shell is crafted from a 100% Polyester Ripstop, a fabric specifically engineered to resist tearing and abrasion. This is complemented by contrast panels featuring a two-layer bonded knit and fleece, providing a soft-touch feel against the body while maintaining a professional silhouette. Internally, a 100% Polyester Mesh lining encourages airflow, ensuring that moisture is managed effectively during high-intensity tasks. The result is a substantial yet lightweight garment that stands up to daily wear in demanding industrial settings.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The DX4 Hybrid Bodywarmer is an excellent candidate for corporate branding. For a truly professional and long-lasting appearance, we recommend embroidery for company logos or staff names. The stable ripstop and knit panels provide a secure base for high-density stitching. Alternatively, for larger, high-impact branding across the back, our precision printing processes are ideal. Every customisation project is handled by our expert in-house team in Telford, drawing on decades of experience since our establishment in 1976 to ensure your brand is represented with absolute clarity.
Use Cases
This bodywarmer is specifically engineered for site managers, surveyors, and logistics professionals who require the safety of a high-visibility garment but work in environments where a full jacket might be too restrictive. It is equally at home in a warehouse or on a construction site, providing just enough core warmth to keep you comfortable throughout a shift.

Practical Advice
Due to its streamlined fit, this bodywarmer is designed to be worn over lightweight base layers or sweatshirts. If you intend to wear it over a heavy-duty hoodie, you may wish to consider the generous 4XL sizing to ensure comfort. The segmented tape is particularly beneficial if your role involves frequent reaching or bending, as it reduces the 'ride-up' often associated with standard high-visibility vests.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-visibility performance and structural integrity of this garment, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Exceeding this temperature can damage the technical fibres and the adhesive bond of the reflective tape.
Bleaching agents must be avoided at all costs, as they will degrade the polyester ripstop and cause the high-visibility pigments to fade, potentially compromising your safety on site.
This garment should not be tumble dried; instead, we advise drip line drying. High heat from a dryer can warp the baffle construction and the segmented tape. Similarly, do not iron this product, as the synthetic materials and heat-applied tape are susceptible to melting under direct heat.
Finally, please note that this garment is rated for a maximum of 25 washes. Beyond this point, the reflective properties may diminish below safety standards, and the garment should be inspected or replaced to ensure continued compliance.
