Product Overview

The Cross back Apron represents a modern evolution of standard kitchen attire. By shifting the weight of the garment from the neck to the shoulders, this apron offers a more ergonomic fit for long shifts in demanding culinary environments. Constructed from our dependable Kingsmill fabric and treated with a specialised protective finish, it provides a sleek, professional aesthetic while maintaining the high level of functionality expected in a commercial setting.

Key Features

  • Ergonomic cross-back design ensures weight is evenly distributed across the shoulders, preventing the neck fatigue common with traditional halter-style aprons.
  • Advanced Texpel™ SOS finish acts as a barrier against oil, water, and grime, keeping the wearer looking professional throughout the service.
  • Ties at the back allow for a secure and adjustable fit for various body types, ensuring the garment stays in place during active movement.
  • Durable Kingsmill polycotton blend provides a balance of comfort and longevity, designed to withstand the high-temperature environments of professional kitchens.

Design & Performance

This apron is engineered from a lightweight yet resilient polycotton fabric, designed to withstand the rigours of a busy commercial kitchen. The blend of 65% polyester and 35% cotton ensures the garment remains breathable while offering superior resistance to wear and tear. The standout technical feature is the Texpel™ SOS finish; this premium stain-repellent treatment ensures that spills bead off the surface rather than soaking into the fibres, which is critical for maintaining hygiene and a clean appearance in the food industry. The robust construction means it can handle frequent laundering without losing its shape or protective properties.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

To truly represent your brand, this apron is suitable for both print and embroidery. Embroidery is the preferred choice for a distinguished professional appearance, ideal for company logos or staff names where a textured, high-quality finish is required. The polycotton fabric provides a stable base for dense stitching, ensuring your branding remains sharp. For larger, more vibrant graphics or promotional messaging, our high-definition printing process is exceptionally effective. Every piece of customisation is handled in-house by our expert team in Telford, drawing on nearly five decades of experience since 1976.

Use Cases

This garment is specifically designed for the catering and food service sectors. It is an ideal choice for professional chefs and kitchen porters, as well as front-of-house staff in cafes, bars, and restaurants. Its stain-resistant properties also make it highly suitable for bakers and butchers who require a clean, authoritative appearance despite working in environments prone to spills and splashes.

Practical Advice

The adjustable cross-back ties mean this apron is versatile enough to fit most staff members comfortably. When layering, ensure the ties are secured firmly over your uniform to maintain a streamlined profile and avoid snagging on kitchen equipment. For teams with high staff turnover, the adjustable nature of this design makes it a practical, one-size-fits-most solution for your inventory.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high performance of the Texpel™ finish and ensure the longevity of the fabric, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C. This temperature is sufficient to remove most stubborn kitchen stains and maintain necessary hygiene standards without degrading the polycotton fibres.

Avoid the use of bleach at all costs, as this will damage the protective coating and cause the deep black fabric to fade prematurely. When drying, use a low tumble dry setting to prevent excessive shrinkage and maintain the garment's structural integrity.

If ironing is required to maintain a crisp appearance, use a maximum soleplate temperature of 150°C. The garment is also suitable for professional dry cleaning using tetrachloroethene if required for industrial-level cleaning or persistent oil-based contaminants.
