Product Overview

The Cold 450 PU Waterproof Mechanical Glove is a technical solution for professionals who refuse to let dropping temperatures and wet conditions hinder their productivity. Designed specifically for mechanical tasks in cold environments, these gloves address the dual challenge of thermal regulation and moisture management. By combining a waterproof internal membrane with robust insulation, they ensure that hands remain warm and dry, even when the job requires handling wet materials or working in damp conditions.

Key Features

  • Internal Waterproof Membrane: This creates an impenetrable barrier against liquids, ensuring your hands stay dry throughout the shift, which is essential for maintaining both comfort and health in cold weather.
  • Thermal Insulation: Specially selected materials provide a layer of warmth that protects against low temperatures without sacrificing the finger sensitivity required for mechanical work.
  • Textured and Reinforced Padded Palms: These provide enhanced grip and additional cushioning, which reduces hand fatigue during extended periods of manual labour and improves the longevity of the glove in high-wear areas.
  • Reflective Label: This subtle addition improves visibility in low-light environments, such as cold stores or outdoor sites during the winter months, contributing to overall workplace safety.

Design & Performance

Constructed from a sophisticated blend of Polyester, PU fabric, Elastane, and SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber), this glove is a substantial piece of protective equipment. The PU fabric provides excellent abrasion resistance, while the addition of Elastane ensures the glove retains its shape and moves with the hand. The interior is lined with a Cotton and PE blend to provide a soft touch against the skin and additional moisture-wicking properties. These materials work in tandem to create a glove that is both sturdy and flexible enough for intricate mechanical tasks.

Why No Customisation?

We do not offer customisation on the Cold 450 PU Waterproof Mechanical Glove because any form of embroidery or heat-seal printing would compromise the integrity of the internal waterproof membrane. Puncturing or applying high heat to the fabric would create entry points for moisture, rendering the glove's primary protective feature ineffective. We believe your safety and the product's performance are more important than branding in this specific instance.

Use Cases

These gloves are ideally suited for individuals working in cold storage facilities, outdoor construction sites during the winter, or for utilities workers who frequently handle damp equipment in low-temperature environments. They are also highly effective for logistics and warehouse staff who operate in refrigerated areas where maintaining grip and warmth is a constant requirement.

Why MyWorkwear

We understand the specific demands of the UK workforce and curate our hand protection range to ensure that every product meets the high standards of durability and performance that our customers expect.

Practical Advice

To ensure maximum performance, we recommend selecting a size that allows for a small amount of air movement inside the glove; this air acts as additional insulation. If you find yourself working in extreme sub-zero conditions, these gloves can be paired with a thin silk or synthetic liner for added thermal protection, provided the fit remains comfortable.

Caring for your product

Maintaining the cleanliness of your gloves is vital for both hygiene and the longevity of the materials. These gloves are machine washable, which allows for the removal of oils, dirt, and salts that can degrade the PU coating and the internal membrane over time.

When washing, use a domestic cycle and avoid the use of harsh bleaching agents. Bleach will break down the synthetic fibres and the SBR padding, leading to a loss of structural integrity and grip. After washing, allow the gloves to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources. Placing them on a radiator can cause the waterproof membrane to become brittle and eventually crack, which would permit water to seep through.
