Product Overview
The ST45 BizTex Microporous Boot Cover provides a critical barrier for professionals working in environments where biological or electrostatic hazards are a concern. Supplied in a substantial pack of 200 pairs, these covers are designed to be worn over standard footwear to maintain the integrity of clean environments or to protect the wearer from external contaminants. The elasticated top ensures the covers remain securely in place, creating a reliable seal between the garment and the boot.
Key Features
- Elasticated Top: This ensures a safe and secure barrier around the boot, preventing the ingress of dust or liquid particles into the footwear.
- BizTex Micro Fabric: A high-performance material that provides both biological protection and anti-static properties, essential for sensitive technical environments.
- High-Volume Pack: Supplied as 200 pairs (400 individual covers), ensuring a consistent supply for high-traffic industrial or medical settings.
- Microporous Technology: The fabric allows for breathability while maintaining a strict barrier against liquid molecules.
Design & Performance
The technical superiority of these boot covers lies in the BizTex Micro fabric construction. This material comprises a polypropylene substrate bonded to a polyethylene film. This laminate structure is engineered to prevent liquid molecules from passing through the outer layer, while the microporous nature allows internal vapour molecules—the result of natural perspiration—to escape. This ensures the wearer remains comfortable during extended shifts.
Furthermore, the fabric is treated with an anti-static coating, conforming to EN1149-1 standards to prevent the build-up of electrostatic charges. It also meets EN14126 standards for biological protection, making it suitable for laboratory and clinical applications where cross-contamination must be strictly managed. Despite its lightweight feel, the material offers impressive resistance to tears and abrasions.
Why No Customisation?
As these boot covers are designated as Type PB[6] Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are intended for disposable use, we do not offer customisation or branding on this product. Adding embroidery or print would puncture the microporous membrane and degrade the anti-static coating, effectively compromising the safety certifications and the protective barrier the covers are designed to provide.
Use Cases
These covers are an essential requirement for laboratory technicians, cleanroom operators, and medical professionals. They are equally effective for tradespeople entering high-end residential properties or sensitive industrial sites where the transfer of dirt or static discharge could cause significant operational issues.

Practical Advice
These covers are designed with a generous fit to accommodate standard safety boots and work shoes. When donning the covers, ensure the elasticated cuff is pulled high and sits flush against your trousers or coveralls to ensure the barrier remains intact. For those working in particularly high-abrasion environments, we recommend regular checks to ensure the soles haven't been compromised.
Caring for your product
To maintain the specialised protective properties of the BizTex Micro fabric, these boot covers must not be laundered. Attempting to wash the covers will strip away the anti-static treatment and damage the polyethylene film, rendering the product unsafe for use in hazardous environments.
Do not use bleach or chemical cleaners, as these will dissolve the synthetic bonds of the fabric. Similarly, keep these covers away from heat sources; they should not be tumble dried or ironed, as the polypropylene substrate will melt. These are designed for single-use applications to ensure maximum hygiene and safety standards are upheld.
