Product Overview
The Be-Uniform Shoe from the Base Classic Plus range is a technical masterclass in industrial footwear. Designed for professionals who require a blend of agility and robust protection, this S3-rated low shoe offers far more than standard safety gear. It is engineered to meet the UNI EN ISO 20345:2012 standard, ensuring that your feet are shielded against the diverse hazards found in demanding UK workplaces. By integrating advanced materials and ergonomic design, the Be-Uniform ensures that safety does not come at the expense of comfort.
Key Features
- SlimCap Toe-Cap: Provides 200 joules of impact resistance with a significantly reduced profile compared to traditional caps, ensuring safety without excessive bulk.
- SmellStop Antibacterial Lining: A permanent treatment that prevents the growth of bacteria and fungus, keeping your footwear fresh and odour-free over long shifts.
- Fresh'n Flex Puncture-Resistant Insole: A non-metallic, flexible layer that protects the sole of the foot from sharp objects, maintaining full movement while ensuring safety.
- AirTech Anti-Fatigue Outsole: A double-density PU sole that acts as a cushion, reducing the physical strain on your legs and lower back during extended periods of standing.
- HRO Heat Resistance: The outsole is capable of resisting temperatures up to 300°C for short durations, making it ideal for work on hot surfaces.
- Metal-Free Construction: This design choice ensures the shoe is lightweight and compatible with environments featuring metal detectors, such as security zones.
Design & Performance
The Be-Uniform is a substantial, sturdy shoe that prioritises the structural integrity of the foot. It features a built-in overcap embedded into the sole for added durability against scuffs, and a sophisticated heel reinforcement system. The integrated antitorsion system is particularly noteworthy, providing lateral stability that prevents the foot from twisting on uneven ground. The water-resistant upper ensures your feet remain dry in inclement weather, while the cold and heat insulation (CI and HI) ratings provide a thermal barrier against extreme ground temperatures. Performance-wise, the SRC slip resistance rating provides the highest level of grip available on both ceramic and steel surfaces.
Why No Customisation?
As this product is a certified piece of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), we do not offer customisation services such as embroidery or heat sealing for the Be-Uniform shoe. Any modification to the upper material could potentially compromise the safety certifications, including its water resistance and structural integrity. We provide these shoes in their original, tested state to ensure they deliver the exact level of protection specified by the manufacturer and international safety standards.
Use Cases
This footwear is exceptionally suited for workers in the construction, utilities, and manufacturing sectors. Due to its heat-resistant (HRO) and insulated properties, it is an excellent choice for those working with asphalt or in environments with varying thermal conditions. Its professional black and red aesthetic also makes it suitable for site managers and inspectors who require a balance of safety and a polished appearance.
Why MyWorkwear
Established in 1976, MyWorkwear has spent decades refining our selection of industrial apparel and footwear. Based in Telford, we pride ourselves on being more than just a supplier; we are experts in the field. We select products like the Base Be-Uniform because they meet our high standards for durability and innovation, ensuring that our customers across the UK are equipped with gear they can rely on every single day.
Practical Advice
The Be-Uniform is designed with a specific men's width and is compatible with orthopaedic made-to-measure footbeds complying with European DGUV112-191 norms. When first wearing these, ensure you utilise high-quality technical socks to complement the SmellStop lining. If you find yourself frequently working in particularly muddy environments, we recommend regular cleaning to ensure the antitorsion system and outsole continue to perform as intended.
Caring for your product
Maintaining your safety footwear is essential for preserving both its protective qualities and its lifespan. We recommend removing dirt and debris after every shift using a soft brush or damp cloth. Allowing grime to build up on the water-resistant upper can lead to premature degradation of the materials, which may eventually lead to water ingress or cracking.
If the shoes become saturated, they should be allowed to dry naturally in a well-ventilated space. You must avoid placing them directly on radiators or using forced heat sources, as this can cause the synthetic components to become brittle and the adhesives to fail. Periodic application of a neutral conditioning cream or waterproofing spray will help keep the materials supple and maintain the shoe's professional finish.
